i got ps 2 to play both yakuza games but i don't want to have to buy ps 3 just to play the third game so sega come on port it to 360.
Third helping of Sega's action adventure series featuring the trials and tribulations of a member of the Japanese mafia set for release in its homeland.
Although the first sequel to the game, Ryu ga Gotoku 2, has yet to be released outside of Japan, a third game in the series--known as Yakuza in the west--has been announced for Japan.
This latest issue of Famitsu, Japan's influential gaming magazine, has a seven-page feature on the new game, which appears to be set in Japan's Edo period--around 1605--as opposed to the modern-day setting of the first game. The official Web site for the series also has a countdown to the game's release on the front page.
The first Yakuza game for the PlayStation 2 was written by famous author Hase Seishu, and followed the adventures of a Yakuza called Kazuma Kiryu. Kazuma, framed for the killing of his clan boss, is released from a lengthy spell in prison to find that his best friend has disappeared, and he agrees to help a mysterious young girl who is searching for her mother. Yakuza--titled Ryu ga Gotoku in Japan--was released in the US and Europe in 2006. A sequel to the game, Ryu ga Gotoku 2, was released solely in Japan in December 2006, and there are no current plans to bring it overseas.
A Sega Europe representative confirmed the third game's existence and its Japanese release details, although he added, "There are currently no plans to release it in Europe." It is currently a PlayStation 3 exclusive and due in early 2008.
i like yakuza 1...................just it did poorly because it had no guns im hoping to see a yakuza 2 on some thing..................i cant believe game makers dont make jap and engish voice acting at the same time this yakuza saints row and Gta
O common i aint even played yakuza 2 yet and im looking forward to it aswell. Wots with the japs always hoggin all the games god dammit! O great and teh 3rd is PS3 exclusive :( i aint gettin that over priced peace of junk anytime soon. Port it to 360 dammit!
that is pretty dumn that ps3 is gettin all the lower grade tittles all most all the tittles are the ps2's lower end games butt it is stil l good that it continues to gain exclusives
The full title is Ryu ga Gotoku Ken zan, coming for PS3 ... and seems like it revolves around the death of Musashi and plenty of swordfighting involved ... Kojiro (musashi's rival) is inside this story and yes, another little girl is involved again. Go watch the trailer at the main website, you'll want more!
Just watched the trailer... I think Sega is still hurting over Yakuza disappointing performance outside Japan (well I enjoyed it) but 3 looks awesome. I wouldn't be all that surprised if it is released outside Japan but not with the Yakuza title. Still no Yakuza 2, boo! Yeah some closure on Shenmue would be nice but Yakuza was way less ambitious and still cost a fortune. Shenmue was expensive to make on the last generation of consoles, now I'm not sure Sega can even afford to make it. Yakuza is at least some consolation.
* FighterHayabusa I agree to no end to no end about the lack of Shenmue 3 and the next Yakuza (2) already being made for any system.
"Shtinky: Keep dreaming" Don't worry, I'll continue to do so. But in the meantime i'm sure there's loadsa games to keep me company until Shenmue 3's release date (which i'm sure there will be one ~ someday...)
awsome...2008 is going to be great epecially with gta 4. but i never even knew that there was a yakuza 2
despite what some ppl area saying i like yakuza, its just really too bad that 2 and 3 wont be coming to US
Proud to know I'm not the only one waiting for shenmue 3 if it does in fact ever come out ........they should release it on wii or xbox 360( I would be willing to buy one then.....shenmue 2 is actually why I bought a xbox haha) and if they do ever release it, it would be wise of them to make it a trilogy disc and one of the longest games ever :) or pretty damn close! Besides it would catch the youngsters up.
Intriguing...Yet what happened to the 2nd one? That's a bit unfair, if we're getting the 3rd one overseas, why not plan out the sequel so we can know it a bit more better.
Two things: (1) I wish that Sega would release Shenmue 3 for the Xbox 360. (2) I wish that Sega would release Virtua Fighter 5 for the Xbox 360 in Japan, just like everywhere else in the world. It isn't fair that Sega is going to Develop a game for the Xbox 360, but then NOT release it in Japan--the country where it would have the largest business impact and be most appreciated, since Virtua Fighter is the #1 3D Fighting game series in Japan. Microsoft Game Studios needs to volunteer to Publish Virtua Fighter 5 in Japan.
That's amazing and all but why should we care if we haven't gotten an announcement for Yakuza 2 to hit stateside/UK? A week after Yakuza came out, I was already flipped out, hoping we'd get the second. Hell, I STILL think about it. If Sega wants to save money on it, I got an idea. Don't shell out buttloads of cash to bad voice actors just because they've been in a couple of teen movies, k? Just hire "nobodies" who actually care about voice acting for less and put out one print or something. Seriously.
damn you SEGA always slow with the news at least tell us that its hopeless to wait for yakuza 2's international release..
i wish they would make it over here that game was kinda fun and i dont like the 1605 time period i like the modern day japan setting
I liked the premise of the first one that came here, but there were some large flaws that made me not want to get it. I hope this one fixes all of those up.
microsoft get ninja gaiden 2 and sony get yakuza 3 what a deal. I think going to release my persona now.
