This game has ben one of the reasons why i always had an itch to get a Saturn. Thankfully, it's finally ben released in glorious 'HD' on the PC, though the question is, is a remake of a 17+ year old game worth anyone's time?
Undoubtedly, yes. The graphics look good, thanks mostly to the artstyle. They aren't going to win any awards, and they sure as hell aren't technically impressive, but they are very appealing to the eye, especially in 1080p.
The gameplay hasn't aged one second because Nights into Dreams... differentiates itself from any standard genre. Once you learn how to play, and that usually takes a few minutes, you'll be gliding fluidly trough the wonderful level design of each colorful area in no time, collecting various objects and avoiding enemies.
The blue orbs are of most importance to collect because those are the ones that you'll use to dispose of the mini-bosses, by going into them and automatically unleashing 20 orbs. Each time you've disposed of a boss, you'll be required to go into a 'waypoint' cage as the one in which you've taken control of Nights (the flying character).
The main bosses suck a bit. Sometimes it's confusing to know how exactly to dispose of them, and once you know some are either ridiculously easy, or unfairly hard.
Despite it's short length, there's a nice chunk of content here to play around with, though some of which you'll need to unlock.
Overall, it's a great, memorable and fun game to play, and i recommend it to anyone.
