Can a Dualshock controller with gamecube adapter play games on a Wii?

To clarify the title a bit. I currently got a wii from my cousin and I was thinking of playing some gamecube games that I missed in the past. However, there's only wii controllers and no gamecube controllers. I do however have a PS2 dualshock controller.

My question is: If I get a dualshock to gamecube adapter, will I be able to play gamecube games with the dualshock controller?

Yes. I've played Capcom vs SNK EO on my Wii with a PS2 controller that way.
