And by kind of I mean a lot better. So much more fun.
Who else has good taste and agrees?

Kind of a troll thread, you didn't give any details to your argument, but...
I agree. Better writing and story and voice acting, IMHO. The less exagerated approach compared to Xenoblade was more to my taste.

Sorry if it comes off as a troll thread. I just enjoyed The Last Story so much more.
It hooked me from the beginning, where Xenoblade just felt like it was dragging on and on.

Different strokes for different folks, and you're not the only person who feels this way...but I disagree 100%. It was the opposite for me: Xenoblade kept me interested for its entire run, except for a couple of weeks where I took a short break from the game because Ether Mines was annoying me. But once I got through that area, I was hooked and spent countless hours each day playing it. On the other hand, I couldn't bring myself to finish Last Story no matter how hard I tried to get past its duller areas.
Both games had interesting stories (despite not finishing TLS, I did watch a series of youtube videos of it because I wanted to see how the story ended) but in the end, I just found Xenoblade's game world to be more colorful and more enjoyable to explore; and I was not a fan of Last Story's battle system of "go from room to room in a totally linear fashion and hack up conveniently placed bad guys."
But again, you're not the only person to prefer TLS over XC, so I just chalk it up to a difference of opinion.

I agree with you, TC. I believe The Last Story is better than Xenoblade, too. I think Xenoblade is overrated....

As fare as pure exploring goes, I'm not sure I've EVER played a game more satisfying in that regard than Xenoblade. The only exception might be Morrowwind, with the important caveat that I haven't tried Skyrim yet.

I've played Dagger Fall, Morrowwind and Oblivion fairly extensively. Morrowind is my favorite world to be in because it feels the most hand crafted, unique and other-worldly. The gameplay is a fair shade more basic than Oblivion but maybe newer mods have corrected that. Good game if it's cheap on steam or gog.com

Just keep in mind that Argonians are slow as molasses in Morrowind. Their my standard in the newer games but in Morrowind it actually made me put it down for a while. My problem, but its a thing.
Having just finished The Last Story this morning (Hooray!), I'm actually a bit hard pressed to compare them because they're even more different than I already knew they were. Polar opposites, in fact, and it suits both of their styles very well. Probably give the edge to Xenoblade.
No clue how you couldn't finish The Last Story, though, Mottman. Once the endgame got started I was probably playing for at least 3 hours straight last night. It's just unrelenting.

Aiming right at an enemy in Morrowind, only for the hit not to register ruins the game for me.

The hissy fits about Bayonetta 2 being Wii U exclusive is a sad testament to how entitled, rude, and childish gamers today can be. It makes all gamers look bad.

Yeah, that's not fun either.

I agree with practically everything Mottman said.
Xenoblade kept me hooked not only throughout my 120-hour first playthrough, but also well past that, as I constantly have the urge to play it again. The Last Story, on the other hand, bored me immensely. Combat was dull and not very enjoyable (boss battles were okay though) and the story was fine, but nothing to write home about. I only played about a third of the way or a bit more through TLS, but I just couldn't force myself to play it any longer. That's just my opinion though.

Xenoblade is just not as interesting to me. Plus the characters are some of the ugliest ever with their deformed eyes and faces.
I played The Last Story 10 hours straight when I first got it. I played Xenoblade for barely one before i needed a break.

I agree with you. I think The Last Story is better than Xenoblade as well. I think Xenoblade is overrated beyond anything. That alone makes the game even worse. The fan-base is ridiculous.

I'm in the process of playing The Last Story. I'm about 4 hours into the story. It's finally picking up and getting interesting.

The battle system in The Last Story was much better then Xenoblade. It all depends on taste I guess as both of these RPG's completely blew my mind. It's hard to pick just one.

I found Last Story to be by far the worse of the Operation Rainfall trio.
A forgettable experience at best.
I wish they had released Pandora's Tower instead. Well, not that it matters to me that much. I did get to play it. And I did enjoy it a lot more.
Not as much as Xenoblade though.

Mario Galaxy 2 and Skyrim must be the worst games of this generation if being highly rated somehow makes a game worse.
The fan-base is ridiculous.
You mean because we actually love the game, some of us more than The Last Story? How dare we! We should all be tarred, feathered, and then beaten for such a ridiculous notion!
By the way, as I recall, you once graded Xenoblade with a quite good score of 8.5/10; so I must assume your remarks now are coming from your Last Story fandom, or are simply meant to provoke flames...in which case I don't get why you would attack someone else's fanbase, if you're overcompensating for your love of TLS by now bashing XC and its fans.
Sorry if you think I'm validating your claims of the Xenoblade fanbase with my biting remarks; but quite frankly, your original response and its needless insults (which appear to be merely there for insult's sake) opened the door wide open for such a response. It's OK to think Xenoblade is overrated, that's a difference of opinion that clearly some others share; but your comments are going too far.
