i remember seeing this game for sale for years and for some reason always put it off until one faithful day. it has a rather slow start (well just the first 10 mins or so :P) but soon you are immersed into this amazing colourful land full of unique charcters most of whom are in fact based from people in shinto religion/mythology and then just general mythology especially around the main character amaterasu (or ammy as she is refered to....yes she"s a she :P) who is basically a fallen god who goes on an adventure to save the world from darkness and regain her powers. the combat is overly basic and apart from the bosses and a few special enemies that require special brush techniques to defeat you just have to keep button-tapping. the story is rather intresting and there are a few minigames break up the pace including a different type of button sequences(think god of war) instead of just typing a button you must use your brush to make a certain shape, this is sometimes rather annoying as it is a bit too specific although i assume it would be alot easier on the wii. it also has a couple of side quests to keep you occupied although you might not notice them in your first playthrough if you ever play it again you will realise that there is quite a few. it also goes on for a good length of time although you may worry after defeating a boss as it would seem to be the end but alas it will continue to keep you occupied. all in all this is an amazing game you should try on your poor dying ps2 and one of the games that reminds you how great the ps2 generation is. basically defineitly a game you want to keep
