Changing who you play as?

Im playing as rifleman at the moment...can i play as scout by changing it in settings or am I stuck unless I start from scratch?

If you press select while in main menu or at player class. If select youself you enter the screen where u can change your gear. If you press L1 or R1 you can switch classes.
You can even change classes or your Ai if you like so.

But you cant change mid-mission? What if your player dies, dó you get controll of another player then?

Are the missions secretly timed lide DR was?

I am only 4 missions in but haven't really encountered secret time limits. Two maps took us about an hour or so to do. You change your kit like Laystar pointed out, usually on the pre-mission screen where it says "class setup". You can also select the AI in the pre-missions screen and change their roles too.

When you die it depends on what mode your on. You get a set amount of respawns. But the higher the difficulty the lesser the respawns and also onscreen help is reduced. Hardcore, there is hardly any help and 0 respawns so if you die you fail the mission - or wait it out if your with co-op buddies.
