This video focuses on one of four stand-alone fireteam engagement modes, in which up to four players come together to complete objectives on their own initiative online.
I like the long distance engagements here, has a more realistic feel and more representative of how actual skirmishes are. I hope the MP also strays from the usual close-in fighting, feels arcadish imo.
To be honest, this game looks really boring....like the last one. I was going to buy this and was really excited about its release. But after watching some of the videos it appears as if nothing has changed. I will be keeping an eye on the overall rating this one gets before I throw any money down on it. So far it is looking real grim.
@tushwacker agreeing and complementing you: We should be able to choose our gear before deploying like we do in "SOCOM 3" or "Raibow Six Vegas 2" or "GRAW2". And if "Just Cause 2" could create a so huge map, why there's this limitation on OF: DR, right? I would love to be able to go as far as I can to try 1.5 mile shots !!
its nice to see co-op on a large map, haven't really played online in big maps like this, you can run and gun like in other shooters
the main 2 things that must be changed from DR for me to like it are: 1) I don't want someone in my squad to just instantly die if we get more than a set distance away from each other (snipers should be able to stay on a high hill and cover the rest of the team from a distance or if someone gets ambushed, they should be able to hop in a vehicle and book it to safety without having to worry about how far they drive) and 2) everyone in the co-op missions should be allowed to have scopes of some kind... it's realistic but not fun to have one guy with a scope killing every enemy from a distance while the other 3 guys strain their eyes at the screen with their iron sights and get 2 or 3 lucky kills in a mission...
I want to be able to outfit myself with my preferred load outs before taking on a single player mission. Can you do that is Red River?
That's the same engine from Fuel. Monster maps are always a plus. I hope the sniper action is fine tuned with realistic bullet logistics.
I like open world realistic games en this game will be awesome (I think). OFP2 was not a great game but wel enough for me. can't wait to try this one..
@sbdb I know what you mean! I expected from this game nothing but a GOTY! imo this game would be perfect if they let us choose our gear before deploying! For example, Rainbow Six Vegas 2 has an awesome customization feature but it's a CQB game. OF: DR should be the best sniper game, but it wasn't due to those problems you mentioned. Hope Codemasters get right this time! Please Codemasters, focus on the snipers!!
The previous Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising was a terrible game. It was so terrible, that the producers didn't even bother to patch it, all they released was some minor patch....that was it. You can't have a good simulation with a quick minor patch, you need serious support. Even COH needed tons of patches to balance the game, every similar game goes through such a cycle. Not this company, they release a small patch and then they're gone again. I expect the same poor support with this one.
wow sick graphics, and the gameplay looks smooth. sweet beginning trailer, I think I'll get this game.
movement looks better, animations are better, weapons aren't as choppy, if you know what i mean, and it seems that communication is more fluid as well. ha seems that they finally polished and are delivering the game we all hoped for in DR. lookin forward to this one
Voices seem to relaxed needs to be more intense or it will come feel lame. I love ultra realstic games like the free to play AA not 3 but 2 best mulitplayer shooter ever
Flashpoint series are based on military sandbox sims basically it's a polished "Arma" so if you don't like highly tactical games that simulate real military situations U WILL NOT LIKE this game! I have the first flashpoint and my biggest complaint was the cheesy voice acting of characters. So far this looks pretty good!
as a keen co-op shooter fan, basically, first day purchase. roll on easter bank holiday weekend, cranked up difficulty modes, and my wife and I swearing at the top of our voices until each objective is nailed.
What an unoriginal, overdone and pathetic mission structure. Oh yeah, and- 'The enemy has consolidated a position between you and the expoint. We didn't think to have a backup extraction point, so... uh... you'll just have to attack them while the ones you've already angered come up behind to completely surround you. Good luck soldiers, kthxbai.'
It seems good and on the right track... I'll have to wait for the review though, but I hope it will be good and not half-assed.
Gotta wait for reviews before committing to this one. The voice acting is way to American cheese and sounds fake. The 're-loading' line especially. Visuals look good though and closer combat is a huge plus.
I'm concerned about the AI also. I'm gonna have to wait on some reviews on this one...I don't trust these guys anymore.
