I was just assigned leader after our great former leader mastercheif left. Anyway I was hoping we could try to do some union games. Some friday or saturday night we could play CoD4 or something. If you guys show interest in this (which you can do by leaving a comment)I'll try to work out a time and date that works out for everyone that wants to participate. I know we have some different time zones but hopefully this will work out, any feedback is appreciated. BTW how do I promote people to officer status?

MOO! Welcome to another one of my great little advice columns. Ok today goes for all of you who are tryng to figure out some key features of cod4. Remeber, as you rank up you get more weapons, when you hit level 55, you can choose to get a special rank but lose all your weapons and start over again, this is called Prestige mode, this is like the ultmimate leveling system in cod4. new weapons ans challenges are unlocked through this level system. Keep on the look out for players with the eagle surrounded by a gold cirlce next to their name, thee are the prestige mod players and beware, they will hunt for the NOOBS to feast on! Patch 1.3 for COD4 PC has been released adding stability and some fixes to gameplay and lobby bugs, as for 360/ps3, a patch is in the works for better lobby systems and better server connection quality. Infinity Ward is now adding more servers into the PSN and XBL systems to offer faster connections and more player volume and bandwith. Good luck soldiers! Bad news,

It seems that I was mis-informed about the release date for History Channel: Battle for the Pacific. Before, the release dates were: November 21, PC, PS2. November 27, Wii, X360. December 11, PS3. Unfortunately, gamespot has just posted that the release dates are as follows. December 4th: PC, PS2, X360, Wii, February 1: PS3

This is an unfortunate delay, however, that means they are already released on all consoles besides for PS3. I tried to verify the info on IGN, but IGN still has the release dates as they were up top, or in a similar pattern. I will check around and try to verify that release date. I will update this later!

UPDATE: Well, only gamestop had the same results as gamepot, and IGN, I already mentioned. 1UP did not have them listed, and amazon said the same release dates as above, except that the PS3 one is on February 15?!?! Bet either way, they all confirmed the prices...$50 for X360 and PS3 versions of the game, $40 for the PS2, Wii, and PC versions of the game. There have been no reviews as of yet on the game either, oh well. But either way, I have confirmed that the PS3 version will be released sometime in February, and the rest have already been released. If anyone has the game, please comment, thx.

Guys, I have been dreaming a dream for years....AND IT HAS FINALLY COME TRUE!!!!!!!! Activision has merged with Vivendi, AND THEY ARE NOW THE LARGEST GAME PUBLISHER IN THE WORLD!! BIGGER THAN EA!!! The merger alsoputs the biggest game franchises in the world under 1 hood. First of all, for those of you who are not familiar with Vivendi, they own Sierra, and Blizzard. So lets see...now they can really destroy EA. Vivendi brings "F.E.A.R., Crash Bandicoot, Spyro The Dragon, Scarface and Ice Age. Scarface: the World is Yours was the No. 1 selling video game in the US in October 2006" from Sierra, and "World of Warcraft, Diablo, StarCraft, and Warcraft. World of Warcraft , the world's most popular game in the MMORPG category, has taken the gaming world by storm with9 million subscribers", from Blizzard. Vivendi Games Mobile will dominate the mobile platform for the new company. Now, the unknow factor to most, is that vivendi owns the universal music group...now add that to guitar hero...think of all the new song downloads!! and guitar hero 4? How will rock band compete when guitar hero has thousands of songs!! This is so great. Now, with the activision franchises like Tony Hawk, Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, all the ID games like Doom, Quake, Wolfenstein, Rage, then Shrek, Spider-Man, Transformers, Bee-Movie, Soldier of Fortune, and dancing with the stars, domination will ensure! Just think...FPS market..EA has Battlefield, Army of Two, and MOH..Activision has Soldier of Fortune, Call of Duty, F.E.A.R., Doom, Quake, Wolfenstein..who will win?? Then they will dominate the RPG, and RTS markets, with Diablo, Warcraft, World of Warcraft, Starcraft..Then they have the awesome platformers crash and spyro, and the movie market with Spider man, shrek, transformers, bee-movie, and Ice-Age. Finally, they will take over the rythum market with dancing w/ the stars, and guitar hero. I see a bright future for this transaction!

note: F.E.A.R. is tied as my4th favorite game of all time (behind the 3 halos) with COD 2. I am soo glad that F.E.A.R. is now on the same side as COD. Now I can buy F.E.A.R.with confidence!

For years, Electronic Arts has been the largest third-party publisher on the planet No longer. Two days after EA's CEO said game-industry mergers were winding down, the biggest such union in history was announced. Today, Vivendi Games and Activision declared they were joining forces in a deal valued at $18.9 billion to create the world's biggest independent game publisher. The new company, called Activision Blizzard, will remain publicly traded on the Nasdaq market in New York under the symbol ATVI.

Under the terms of the deal, French media conglomerate Vivendi SA will contribute the entirety of its Vivendi Games subdivision--worth $8.1 billion--as well as $1.7 billion in cash for a 52 percent controlling stake in Activision Blizzard. Once the deal is approved, Activision Blizzard will offer holders of Activision's 146.7 million shares $27.50 for each share--a 31 percent premium over the 20-day average closing price.

If the union is approved by US regulators, Activision Blizzard's estimated $3.8 billion in annual revenue will eclipse EA, which expects $3.35 to $3.65 billion in net revenue for its 2008 fiscal year. It will also put many marquee game franchises--Call of Duty, Tony Hawk, F.E.A.R., Diablo, StarCraft, Warcraft, and World of Warcraft--under a single roof. It will also give Activision's Guitar Hero franchise direct access to the library of Vivendi's Universal Music Group, the world's largest record label.

Since the deal calls for the melding of Activision and Vivendi management teams, both were publicly pleased. "This alliance is a major strategic step for Vivendi and is another illustration of our drive to extend our presence in the entertainment sector," said Vivendi CEO Jean-Bernard Levy. "By combining Vivendi's games business with Activision, we are creating a worldwide leader in a high-growth industry."

Activision CEO Bobby Kotick also gave the union his blessing. "This is a pivotal event in the continuing transformation of the interactive entertainment industry," he declared. "By combining leaders in mass-market entertainment and subscription-based online games, Activision Blizzard will be the only publisher with leading market positions across all categories of the rapidly growing interactive entertainment software industry and reach the broadest possible audiences."

yeah, I just heard that some stupid romance band is sueing activison for "not representing their song well on guitar hero encore: rock the 80s." Black friday was pretty incredible. I went to the jam packed mall, and couldnt get into gamespot, fye, saturday night matinee, or kb toys. Apparently, fye had a "buy pro value pack X360 (the one with marvel: ultimate alliance and forza 2 bundled in for free) and get halo 3 for $30. That must have gone over well with lots of shoppers, they were sold out of 360s pretty fast. In fye, people were too crazy buying movies, music, games, and more, I didnt even wanna go in there. (they were blasting soulja boy so loud my ear drums were screaming, it was awesome). Gamespot, I wont get into, and apparently KB toys had a buy one get one free sale on video games. OHH man..I went in there to get something for my brother, and after fighting my way through 8 yr olds buying these terrible games, I went against my 2nd best moral of video game buying (RATING!! RATING!!!) in favor of my first biggest moral, (PRICE!!). So for $15, I got this DS game with wi-fi called "tank beat", and this DBZ legend of goku 1/2 value pack for GBA. I thought, 3 games for $15, how bad could it be? Well, not that bad actually, the games were all fairly good for $15, especially since the ratings they recieved. Gamespot "Dont bother playin tank beat." Anyway, I also got that civial war game for 360, and although it did not have multiplayer, which i was mad about, it was actually pretty fun. I guess I will just re-play the single player for a while, especially for $15. To finish it off, I got The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind Game Of The Year Edition, which was $10, and came with all the expansions, plus this construction thingy. LOL, that proly made me sound really, really cheap, but the bottom line is, after buying a new PC and possibly a new 360, I just dont have the cash to splurge, lol. Anyway, for $45 i got 5 games and 2 expansions, not bad in my opinion. So anyway, what were ur black friday experiences? I will have a forum for that, as well as a new poll that I just made. Alright, that is pretty much it for activision this year. I havent had a weekly update b/c the game release dates and the games were really unconfirmed, because they were all activision value games. So I will announce now that the Monster Jam, World Series of Poker 2008: battle for the bracelets,Cabela's Big game hunter 2008, Hot Wheels: Beat that, and most of all, soldier of fortune: payback, have all come full circle, and have had all thier incarnations released, despite some of them ranging from october to november in release dates. Also, in actual activision, the bee movie game and guitar hero III were both completely finished also. Meanwhile, the last big activisionseries for this year had its first incarnation released, the PS2 version of "History Channel: Battle for the Pacific" I know it may sound pathetic, but I have always liked those history channel games, and I just posted b4 that the X360 version of last years history channel game, a civil war one, was 15 bucks.

Okay, but this years looks pretty cool, here is the description "History Channel: Battle for the Pacific puts you in on the ground in many of the decisive battles in the Pacific Theater or WWII." There you go. It was released for PS2 on November 19th, the PC on the 21st, and will be released on Wii/360 on the 27th, and finally, on PS3 on December 11th. For those of you who do not know, it is an FPS, a WWII one, but one that actually focuses on the Pacific front, most focus on the European front. It is also in cooperation with the history channel, so it is historically accurate, which is a good excuse to buy it to tell to your parents. Finally, it is nice that it comes to ALL consoles, and hopefully it will be better than the recent ones. Here is a factsheet created for it that I found for the game on gamespot..

That is pretty cool, hand to hand combat, play as japenese or american, and as I predicted, everything actually happened! alright, to sum up my history game obsession, it will be priced at $40 for PC/PS2/Wii, and $50 for X360 and PS3, which is not bad, considering most PS3 games are $60.

Okay, for the rest of the year, activision released an XBLA shrek puzzle game, shrek-n-roll, around november 14th, and will release their last game of 2007, Pimp My Ride, on the Wii on December 11th. Finally, They released the first Cabela's Monster Bass game on PS2 on the 19th. TheWii/X360/PS3 versions of the game are scheduled forJan 8,2008. Okay, that sums it up, and since there is really nothing else to report, I will have breaking news when the history channel game comes out, and soon, info on how COD 4, GH 3, and more did on overall ranking for this year. Hey everyone, I know it has been a while. I have not posted because there isnt much to post about. Mostly bad news has been goin around, with Rock Band clearly dominating Guitar Hero III, sk8 dominating Tony Hawk's Proving Ground (watch the gametrailers 'vs' feature), and Soldier of Fortune having a terrible fortune so far. On the bright side, COD 4 has dominated everything, despite its shortcomings (no splitcreen, vehicles, etc.) either way, the game has dominated, and it is great news for activision. Either way, this is pretty much it for games in 2007. November is the gaming month, and since most games want to hit b4 black friday (tomorrow) most great games have already come out. The only ones that really still have to come is the recently announced PS3 UT III (kudos PS3) and Orange Box PS3 (a little late PS3 lol). Anyway, happy thanksgiving everyone, and dont forget to vote in my polls that I just set up, exclusive game of the year 2007, and Multiplatform game of the year 2007...dont forget...here, we report, you decide!

UPDATE!!!! BIG NEWS!!! I just got the gamestop black friday sale, and xbox 360 owners, Civil war: A nation divided is $15 from the 23rd to the 25th. This game did not recieve strong ratings, but it is definately an above average game, and I highly reccomend it for $15. I mean, how much cheaper do u need it to be? It is normally $40 btw. Also, the Transformers the Game is $10 off, at $40, so if you love Transformers, there you go. This is 360 stuff, I am sorry, I dont wanna sound like a fanboy, but PS3 doesnt have these sales, so dont get mad at me, lol. So now for some other news. PS2 owners, Spider Man 3 is $20 (reg. $30) for those 3 days, and god of war II is donw to $40!! Nice! Okay PS3 fans, here you go, this is a great deal, the critically acclaimed Virtua Tennis 3 is $20! Sorry, could not keep it to activision...OH!!!! HERE WE GO AGAIN SONY!! COD: Roads to Victory and Tony Hawk's Project 8 are both $15!!!!!!!!! OH MAN!...jeez, talk about a deal, I know that COD game was not supposed to be that good..but sheesh. I will also be picking up Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind GOTY edition for $10 tomorrow. Okay, there you go, dont mean to seem like I am frieking out, but for $30, you get urself that history channel game (which DOES have XBL btw, look on the box) and COD: roads to victory.
