Today was a great day for all the fans of the GTA franchise as Grand Theft Auto III was officially inducted into Gamespot's "Greatest Games of all Time" list, a decision many would argue is long overdue.

It seems as though the election season has started earlier than expected as both Democrats and Republicans are already vying for the family values vote by proposing a new round of anti-video game bills. Via Gampolitics.com comes news of a new bill that was recently passed in the New York State Assembly by a 130-10 margin which would make the sale and/or rental of violent video games to minors a felony.
Trying to pass unconstitutional legislation banning or restricting the sale of violent video games is surely hard work from a legal standpoint but as it turns out it is also very costly. Just ask Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D) who in 2005 spent one million of tax payers' money on defending in court his ill-fated Safe Games Illinois Act.

In 2006 film-critic Roger Ebert opened up a firestorm when he wrote that to him video games were not a legitimate art form. Unfortunately, Ebert is not alone in his disdain for video games. A large number of prominent film critics continue to ignore video games as an artistic medium.

Apple has been at the forefront of technology and innovation in the computer and personal electronics business for decades. What started as just three friends selling a handful of personal computer kits (Apple I) from their garage has turned into a 20 billion dollar business. Perhaps, the singular reason for Apple’s success has been Steve Jobs, whose creativity and drive have carried the company through the highs and the lows of life in the Silicon Valley.
But here’s why Apple may not be any different from, say, Microsoft and why Steve Jobs is not the messiah.
No matter how visually advanced video games have become over the years, the narrative still remains as one of the most important elements in creating a rewarding gaming experience. In this respect, sometimes even a great story can have a dreadful or poorly written ending.

Unfortunately, one of those unavoidable events on Gamespot message boards or any other forum, for that matter, is the unpleasant encounter with a fanboy. Whether his allegiance is with Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft is largely irrelevant since all fanboys exhibit a similar characteristic – a persistent lack of civility.
