Latest Updates
Hello to all the CDU members.
I've been a member of this union since Feb 2007 and a veteran officer just like many of you. When I joined this union, it was a Console Debate Union, or in other words, an union exclusively to debate games on every console. This is also an union that is in the TOP 25 union views, wich means it's a great union to post and its members are also very friendly. However, something happened wich I can't explain, the CDU become more and more an OT union with losts of OT posts when the purpose is to discuss games and consoles. That's the main reason that I have become unactive, don't get me wrong but if you want to post what doesn't belong here, the OT board is the right place for you.Forgive me but I was and I am a person who likes to follow the rules.
In conclusion, I am going to resign as officer. I would like to thank to the previous leaders and officers for making such a great union and for the great moments that we've spent during my time as a member, but I feel I don't belong here anymore.
This is not a goodbye but more than a see you later, if you need help with anything, GS or even personal advice, you know where you can find me.
Sincerely
canana

Rumors that a PSP2 is comming soon have been intensified recently. The latest is identified by sources states that already is working on developing games for the successor to Sony's portable. This despite the fact that Sony has already denied the existence of a new PSP, through the president of SCEE, David Reeve, who said last week that "there are no plans for a PSP2."
Meanwhile, several websites claim that "distribution sources" reported that a new version of the console, the PSP-4000, is available at the end of next year, maintaining the philosophy that led to the launch of the PSP-2000 Slim & Lite in September 2007 and version 3000, released last October.

After Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Batman, the wizard should be the next to be represented in Lego.Read more inside.

Earlier this year, Activision unveiled Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, the first installment in its billion-dollar rhythm series based entirely on a band. No sooner had the publisher announced the deal than speculation began to spread about what the second band-based Guitar Hero game would be. Along with Van Halen, the most mentioned group was Metallica, the legendary San Francisco Bay Area heavy-metal quartet.
Now, talk of Guitar Hero: Metallica is no longer a case of wishful thinking or idle speculation--it's fact. When sifting through an SEC filing of Activision's over the weekend, Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Edward Woo--associate of the highly visible Michael Pachter--uncovered a gem in the section where the Santa Monica, California-based publisher discussed its upcoming game slate."In fiscal 2009, we plan to publish Guitar Hero: On Tour for the NDS; Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, Guitar Hero: Metallica, and Guitar Hero IV across multiple platforms," the company said in its report. Activision's fiscal year ends on March 31, 2009, which means that the game will likely follow the holiday release of Guitar Hero: World Tour (nee Guitar Hero 4).
Guitar Hero: Metallica will be the first time a game based on the multiplatinum-selling band--which has become only slightly less famous for its antipiracy efforts as its musical achievements--has made it to retail. However, it is the second such game to be announced. In 2003, Vivendi Games--which will soon merge with Activision--struck a deal to create a vehicular combat game inspired by Metallica's music. Unconfirmed reports stated that the project had been quietly canceled in 2005.

The new DualShock 3 controller is finally here (well, in Japan at least) and is taking advantage of Sixaxis technology as well as an improved rumble features. However, how expansive is the DS3?
Last week, during a test run with the DualShock 3, Eurogamer revealed that rumble with PS2 games did not appear to be functioning. This was before the introduction of the PS3's 2.0 firmware and since things many new possibilities has opened up.
Eurogamer has now received confirmation from Sony that the DualShock 3 controller does indeed rumble with PlayStation 2 titles, pending whether or not the game was originally compatible with rumble and works on the PS3.
Games that already support the new feature includes: Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, Resistance: Fall of Man, and Motorstorm.
The official European and North American release for DualShock 3 is spring 2008. Please stay tuned to PSU for more DualShock 3 information.

The Xbox 360 already plays a selection of original Xbox games with its backward-compatibility feature, but soon gamers won't even need a disc to boot games like Halo, Fable, Psychonauts, and Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge. In conjunction with its ongoing celebration of the fifth anniversary of Xbox Live, Microsoft today announced that it will be selling those four games, among others, for download from the Xbox Live Marketplace early next month.
Calling the program Xbox Originals, Microsoft will sell the games for 1,200 Microsoft points ($15) each, and the company is promising to expand the number of games offered over the coming year. A Microsoft representative had not responded to a request for comment on whether these games would have their original online features intact, or if Xbox Live support would be added into previously offline-only games, such as Halo. Xbox Originals will debut on December 4, and will be part of a firmware update that will also include new parental-control options.
That isn't the only news Microsoft has to celebrate the anniversary of Xbox Live. The company has also announced that it will allow Xbox Live users worldwide to download a free game. For 48 hours beginning 12:01 a.m. Eastern time on November 15, members in Korea will be able to download Hexic 2 for free, whereas the rest of the world can grab the board game Carcassonne at no charge.
Microsoft is also offering a token of appreciation to longtime Live users. The company will deposit 500 Microsoft points ($6.25) into the account of every Xbox Live member who joined the service in 2002, the year it first launched.

Speaking in a closed investors meeting today in Tokyo, Konami's Chief Financial Officer, Noriaki Yamaguchi, commented how the firm is interested in "reaching more fans worldwide."
He highlighted the primary reason of the delay, claiming, "We [Konami] want to work on the quality that is warranted for a MGS title."
Yamaguchi also stated the company is "committed" to a first quarter release in Japan next year, which, given the fact the current financial year concludes March 31 2008, points towards a Japanese release anywhere between April and July next year.
In related news, Konami Australia issued a press release today, claiming that the earliest the game could hit PAL territories is June 2008.
