Atlus - Tokyo Mono Hara Shi

Source - Click

Despite the scan mentioning Persona, this game has nothing to do with Persona or Shin Megami Tensei.

Tokyo Mono Hara Shi is related to the "Juvenile Gauken" or Tokyo Majin series, which Atlus seems to have picked up.

Persona: The Snow Queen Quest's

Atlus' words not mine. Nevertheless, seeing the Snow Queen quest appear in Shin Megami Tensei: Persona should be exciting for anyone that played Revelations: Persona.

he Snow Queen quest is an alternate storyline, which you can discover early in the game. This side story features a different cast of characters, Yuki being one of them, and *that* Shin Megami Tensei demon. You know, Mara.

Persona 5 Playstation 3 Exclusive?

Pachinko?

SOURCE: Sankaku Complex

Apparently, a pachinko industry publication company has accidentally leaked information about Persona 5, stating that "a consumer announcement of PS3 exclusive Persona 5 is scheduled soon." There have been multiple announcements surrounding a Megami Tensei-based pachinko machine, and it seems like the accidental statment of Persona 5 came from them. However, this could just turn out as an error, and the exclusivity rumor invalid.

Bogus or not bogus: I think it might not be a such bogus rumor after all. If Persona 5 is indeed being announced, it definitely has a high chance of being released on the next-gen consoles this time around. Persona 3 and 4 were released on the Playstation 2 because the system still has a pretty big fanbase. If Atlus does release Persona 5 on the PS3, they'll attract more fans. Plus, the series probably deserve to move on up as well.

Well, hope that it's not an exclusive product, because there are still plenty of people who don't have a next-gen console. Here's to hoping that Persona 5 will also be staying with the Playstation 2, and if they decide to go multiplatform, it could potentially be a win-win situation for Atlus. Just maybe.

Atlus Teaser Site Reveals Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey?

Source: http://www.siliconera.com/2009/07/16/atlus-teaser-site-reveals-shin-megami-tensei-strange-journey/

Atlus posted a new teaser site which has a scrambled picture and text like "we're hope!" and "for the future of mankind, let's do it!". The game will be revealed on July 24, but I believe we can beat that.

Doing a little more digging I think we got the name of the game and it's a Shin Megami Tensei title. The page's source code hid a file called logo_megami.jpg. The file has been removed, but not before this Japanese blog grabbed it.

It looks like Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey is coming out in Japan on October 8. This year that's a Thursday too and games in Japan are typically released on Thursdays…

SMT: Devil Survivor (Gamespot Video Review)

[video=6212374:7272169869]

Summon demons and save Tokyo on the DS with this video review for Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor.

The Good: Unique, strategic battle system is fun and entertaining. Intriguing story with plenty of mystery and Limited in-game time causes suspense and makes decisions meaningful. Many plot branches with multiple endings. Tons of character customization.

The Bad: Too many places to go with absolutely nothing to do.

SMT: Devil Summoner 2 (Gamespot Review)

Fun combat and an intriguing story make up for the dull detective drudgery in this atmospheric period adventure. Review By Lark Anderson, GameSpot.

*The Good* Fun and strategic combat system. Quirky and fascinating hard-boiled detective mystery. Robust devil and weapon fusion systems.

*The Bad* Poor pacing makes for uneven gameplay. Awful camera makes exploration confusing.

Persona PSP Update!
By Tom Magrino, GameSpot.Com

It's shaping up to be a pretty big day for the PSP. This morning, Sony confirmed a host of new games headed to the portable, including MotorStorm Arctic Ridge, Little Big Planet, Rock Band Unplugged, and an exclusive Assassin's Creed game. Now, Atlus is jumping on the PSP game train, announcing today that the original Shin Megami Tensei: Persona will arrive for Sony's handheld this fall.

Atlus concurs.
Originally released for the PlayStation in 1996 under the name Revelations: Persona, Atlus' modern-day role-playing game was ported to the PC in 2000. Setting the stage for later installments in the series, Persona told the story of a group of teenage students banding together to repel a wave of interdimensional demons assaulting their city.

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona for the PSP marks the second rerelease of the game in the US, the first having come for the original PlayStation in 2000. However, Atlus promises that the newest remake will be a vast improvement over the original, saying that the game has been "fully rebalanced, visually enhanced, and completely relocalized." The developer-publisher expects to announce more details on Shin Megami Tensei: Persona in the near future.
