Eldred
Eldred was a powerful wizard on his own world. He was obsessed with gaining power and knowledge, and he felt that any end justified this means. He saw that his world was nearing its apocalypse and found a way to travel to the realm of the Gods, guided by the imp Zyzyx. He lost everything in the process, including a great many things he did not know he valued. He is embittered, but not broken, and now has a chance to re-evaluate the choices made in the past and make a new start.
Zyzyx
Zyzyx is Eldred's familiar. An imp whose petty complaints and wise-cracks at Eldred's expense are likeable (if somewhat annoying in the heat of battle), Zyzyx has a seemingly infinite store of knowledge, but he lacks the wisdom to grasp the gravity of most situations. Think of Zyzyx as a guide who knows that to do, but who has never done it himself, and you'll get the picture.

Persephone, Goddess of Life
Persephone has a gentle and nurturing nature, and it is not uncommon for her to bring words of encouragement or comfort to those in need, but there is another side to her which is not all that difficult to uncover, She can be very intolerant of those who disagree with her. Her doctrine is one of finding the potential for greatness within oneself, but her definition of greatness is very narrow. Persephone believes that as the Goddess of Life she is the ultimate source of justice and wisdom in the world. Those who fail to serve her ends must therefore be both wicked and foolish. Once one has incurred her wrath, Persephone becomes extremely judgemental.
Persephone promises her followers justice, but mercy rarely enters into the equation.
James, God of Earth
It is important to note that James, the God of Earth, looks like a giant earthwork wearing overalls. His personality is similarly, well, down to earth. James is easy-going, humble, and straightforward in his dealings with others. He dislikes trouble and wishes to be left alone for the most part. He does have some sympathy for others if it seems they aren't getting a fair deal, but he can be cowed into inaction by his more aggressive peers. On occasion, James will break out with an amusing aside or witty comeback.
James Promises his followers peace and prosperity, and above all, the protection that only the earth can provide.
Stratos, God of Air
In this family of Gods, Stratos may be seen as a wicked middle child. He is arrogant, cold-hearted, and smug. He belives he is the best and yet is convinced he is under-appreciated. Somewhat cowardly at heart, Stratos schemes incessantly, seeking to gain advantage while avoiding open conflict. He may often be found plying the others with honeyed words or engaging them in some contrived encounter of his while feigning ignorance.
Stratos promises his followers whatever he thinks they want to hear. For wizards, he usually promises wisdom.
Charnel, God of Slaughter
Charnel is wicked to the core. He justifies his love of destruction, violence, and carnage with so many twisted layers of rationalization that is comical. Still, it should not be said that Charnel is heartless or without love - his heart is filled with the love for the misery of others. Most often, Charnel is extremely honest since he has no qualms whatsoever about being cruel and vicious merely for the sake of being cruel and vicious, but he does on occasion employ duplicitous means to protect his schemes from being prevented by the other Gods.
Charnel promises his followers strife, claiming there is no purpose to an existence devoid of strife.
Pyro, God of Fire
Pyro believes he is the strongest and smartest of all the Gods. In truth, he is the most simple-minded, understanding only the power of raw destructive force and superior firepower. He may be thought of as younger than all the other Gods, whom he views as old, foolish and set in their ways. Pyro has no respect for the past and sees the future only in terms of his own might.
He promises his followers power and progress.
Welcome to a world like none you have ever seen before. It is a world of rival Gods, who, in their ancient jealousy, shattered the world into a series of floating islands. Each of the Gods has followers, but none of them are content to allow the others to gain the upper hand. They argue and fight over the inhabitants of the islands, seeking to gain more followers - or to destroy the followers of their rivals.
The arrival of a powerful wizard - Eldred - with no ties to any of the Gods, heralds a new era for their world. With you (Eldred) as a powerful ally, each of the Gods will be able to take a direct hand in furthering their own agenda without having to get their hands dirty. In some cases, this is not necessarily a bad thing, but in others it will plunge the world into a new era of darkness. However, you are the wildcard in their plans. Although the Gods might wish otherwise, the choice of whom you will serve is up to you, making you the most powerful and strategically important being in the realms.
