we've never been a fan of the tv show. just wasn't our thing. imagine our surprise when we got down to playing this and it was pretty addictive. goes to show you that not everything is as it seems.
single player has this tournament style progression. twelve families, increasingly more difficult, two unlockable avatar articles of clothing per victory.
we didn't have high expectations going into this, so we weren't disappointed with the graphics. it's no HL2, but the cartoonish characters are varied enough to add a bit of color to trying to guess how the surveys are answered. in retrospect they could have added more outfits, there's like 30 or so pieces for each category; 30 shoes, 30 pants, ect.
once we conquered the single player there wasn't much left to do. we plan on only playing this when we have company over.
you can't alter the appearance of others in your family, which was sort of a bummer. they give you a few other random characters in addition to your avatar, presumably representing your mother, father, brother, ect. would have been nice to have more control over that. looks like that's the same for multi-play, it's only two players (but if you're playing with a group it doesn't matter).
biggest drag seems to be that if you want more options with another avatar you have to play though the whole campaign to unlock them again. looks like there's a place to input passwords, not sure what that does just yet.
overall, decent game. it held our interest and we have a feeling it'll be a big hit at our parties.
