Dragon Age: Origins--Wardens' Quest Invites Up for Grabs!

How do you feel about putting yourself in with a chance of winning a share of $50,000? Well, that's what is on offer for the winning team at the upcoming launch event for EA and BioWare's upcoming role-playing game Dragon Age: Origins, and we've got three places at the finals to give away to some of you.

How do you feel about putting yourself in with a chance of winning a share of $50,000? Well, that's what is on offer for the winning team at the upcoming launch event for EA and BioWare's upcoming role-playing game Dragon Age: Origins, and we've got three places at the finals to give away to some of you. And for those of you not lucky enough to be selected, we've got a total of 10 download codes for the game's premium digital edition.

If you win, then EA will look after getting you to London for the event and will take care of you while you're here. This includes train travel from your nearest British Rail station, travel within London, and three days of hotel accommodations. All of this--and the game's rating--means that you have to be 18 or over to enter, I'm afraid. If you enter and are underage, you won't get into the event.

Because Dragon Age: Origins - Wardens' Quest is a 24-hour marathon task for teams of four, we need to make sure that you're also up to snuff when it comes to role-playing game skills. Since this is slightly hard to measure, we want you to tell us what your proudest RPG moment is, and back it up with a screenshot or similar picture if at all possible--though this isn't essential. This could be a massively multiplayer online moment--maybe beating a tough WOW hard mode or getting a legendary item--or it might be getting hold of a particularly hard item in a Final Fantasy game. It all depends on what you're proudest of achieving in any sort of RPG you can think of. A screenshot isn't absolutely necessary, but if you haven't got proof, I recommend giving us a bit more background on the moment in question so we believe you.

So, how do I enter, I hear you cry? Well, we've decided to open up all manner of ways for you to do so. You can use Twitter, by tweeting @gamespotuk, you can enter in the comments below, you can e-mail us at competitions@gamespot.co.uk, or you can send us a carrier pigeon--though it should be noted that proof of sending will not count as proof of receipt.

If you want a full copy of the rules for the Dragon Age: Origins - Wardens' Quest event, then e-mail us at the address above, and we'll get them out to you. Normal GS UK rules, terms, and conditions apply to those entering this competition. You have until midnight London time on Wednesday, October 21, to enter.

The event kicks off at County Hall in London--which is in spitting distance of GS UK towers, as it happens--with an orientation session at 2 p.m. on October 27. The competition proper runs from 10 a.m. on October 28 for 24 hours. Team members will take turns playing a single Dragon Age: Origins character of their creation for the 24-hour period, and points will be awarded to each team based on a number of factors, including character level, the amount of exploration you've done, and how much of the game you've completed. Exactly how the scoring will work is under wraps for now, but all will be explained at the orientation event.

Hmm, My proudest moment in RPG history? Well I'd have to say beating Gannon in LoZ:OOT after playing the game for so long and repeating the first 3 dungeons twice due to cartridge failure. Nothing like finally killing him after escaping that castle. Ohwell, I'm 18 and I hope I win!!

I don't really have a proudest moment in RPG personal history really... I mean grant it I get a great sigh of relief everytime I beat any RPG. Though if I "Had" to actually put a top sigh of relief down, it would probably be the week I designated for Final Fantasy Fever, where I took, played, and beat all the Final Fantasies (Except for Final Fantasy VI for PSX... unfortunately I had, had it with attempting that boss...) but played all the original nintendo, and super nintendo titles, replied the ones on the Playstation with the correct series number, and got all the way upto Final Fantasy XII beat that on the 6th day, and then mellowed out on Final Fantasy XI Online for the last day... course I fell asleep on my keyboard, woke up with a keyboard engravement on my face, and a keyboard drowned in a inch of saliva and monster energy drink. But damn it, that was the proudest day of my life whn i could say I played, beat, and rocked Final Fantasy...

Unfortunately I recently lost all my game saves on my 360 ... It was about 70-80 game saves and 1000's of hours of gameplay... But it gives me great reasons to play Mass Effect again!! I've already Pre-ordered Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age. Seriously though, thank you so much for making a sequel to Mass Effect!! I LOVE THAT GAME!! I even have a t shirt, book and soundtrack to prove it. I love that the Mass Effect title's weird sound, comes from a anti bear trash can, lol!

    Thanks

    Hi,

Proudest RPG moment eh? Wow that's a hard one. FFVII really introduced me (like many others) to the world of RPG's. Since then I have saved the world or girl or even collected them all, for years. Some of my greatest moments would have to be: Beating Emerald and Ruby weapon on FFVII (of course) and maxing out everyone to 99. Replaying Vagrant Story so many times that I could defeat the final boss (Romeo Guildenstern), unarmed and with a single punch. Defeating Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts. I remember in Pokemon Blue (man, I use to love taking that to school), I used the Master ball on Articuno. Big mistake!! As I should have saved it for Mewtwo!! However I was very lucky. When I fought Mewtwo, Articuno was first up and I used Blizzard, which actually froze him (The freezing ability hardly ever happens, maybe 5% of the time)!! So I was able to capture Mewtwo with an Ultra ball. I've been addicted to the Monster Hunter games and I love how much grinding they require. I remember in MH1 I fought a Black Gravios and I took him down in like 5 minutes, by myself. He was a gold crown one too!! Just got smack after smack in his head. My friends wouldn't believe me if it wasn't for the guild card stats.

    Thanks

I guess my proudest RPG moment would be when i finally finished every aspect of Oblivion. Now this might not seem much to some but you have to understand what i went through with this game. I bought it on the xbox 360 only to have the four red lights appear and kill the console when i had finally completed the main story quest, the fighter's guild quests, the magician's guild quests and was making my way through the dark brotherhood. So i traded in the 360 for a brand new ps3. 60 hours of game play later the laser goes wonky. I go back to store where he assures me he's transfered all the game data over to the new playstation. I go home and it's blank. No more of this!! I decide before promptly trading the Elder Scrolls in. Almost a year later i back track on myself when the shivering isles expansion comes out and off i go to the shop where i purchase a new copy of the game. Is this the end...No. My boyfriend and i have to part ways for now and he takes the playstation. So now i once again have the game and no console to play it on. I've had enough at this point and throwing my bank balance out of the window proceed to buy the Slim. I've finally finished the game. It only took me 2 years to do it. I know RPG's are meant to be long, final fantasy's have taught me that lesson but Oblivion took the cake. I think i have something to be proud of now that it's over.

I suppose "maxing" out points on any "insane" level would be mine. I've done this on only a few games, but then again, I only own a few games! LOL, dedication to the art people, that's the name of the game. Dedication.

My proudest role-playing moment would be playing through Baldur's Gate II with just my wizard character and no NPCs. Though the NPCs in Baldur's Gate are fantastic, I found that I really enjoyed the tactical experience that playing a single character offered. I remember having to really plot out certain encounters. So the solo run-through of Shadows of Amn remains one of my proudest and most well remembered gaming experiences.

Proudest moment in my RPG history was when I defeated Nemesis, the very last optional boss in Final Fantasy X. After several failed attempts thanks to his 1 hit kill move that strikes your entire party, I eventually came up with the idea to summon an aeon as shields before it was his turn and he let off that special move of his. It worked, but I didn't get a lot of hits in and ultimately ran out of aeons and died. Then I realized, I could get more hits in with quick hit before his turn.

I used that strategy the next round to much success. I was doing it, I was holding my own with such a cheaply over powered boss. Then it happened, with no aeons left to summon and a dwindling amount of turns, Nemesis went limp and pyreflies gushed out of him. I fell back against my couch with relief. I'd done it, I'd beat the hardest boss in FFX entirely on my own. And I'd formed my "own" strategy (it appears in a number of guides, and I never shared it, so I wasn't the only one to come up with it, of course) to do so. I felt so accomplished, I'd thoroughly beaten FFX.

As cool as this news is, I still can't forget that today was the day that Dragon Age Origins was originally supposed to be released. O well, only 2 weeks to go My proudest moment would definitely have to be deleting my lvl 80 on WOW. Yes it was alot of time wasted, but I felt like I unlocked the cage to the rest of my life.

The first time I took down Sin. FFX was the first JRPG I had ever played, and I had no idea how powerful characters typically become towards their endgames, so I was really impressed with myself.

There are lots of proud moments in my long gaming career - lol - one of which being beating Saruin on Romancing SaGa - that guy is relentless and one might even say... cheap; he has two forms, both of whom have massive amounts of HP, takes multiple turns at once, hits multiple characters, reanimates your dead characters to fight for him, and does massive amounts of damage. The first time i fought him it took me several tries, and had nearly worn my patience thin, but my determination was stronger and in the end, i prevailed... of course.... and went on to replay the game four more times LOL.

More recently, since the era of achievements, 1K-ing my very first game was a very proud moment too
