Lousy value. You can easily play through the DLC in an hour and a half on normal difficulty, the entire plot of it is in the trailer and none of the fights are very interesting. The unaltered game has more compelling sidequests, like the dreamscape in the tower that takes hours to navigate. The new armor set is weak as well, although it does look cool.

i like the idea of having a Demon in my party.

@bchick " For God sakes. get a grip! I have been playing games on the PC since the Amiga, and what you guys see now on your PC-xbox-doohickeys is a frekkin' miracle! " Thank you!! I totally agree... I started with the system that came before the Atari 2600, the one that had Pong and breakout. The distance that video gameing has been amazing., and some still nit pick over graphics and gameplay.(to appreciate the present, know the past and where we came from) For every person that has limited vision or comes across as aparently 'stupid' on forums. I do not have to point it out.. they do a good enough job themselves. I just laugh at them! Stuff costs money.. you pay for what you want.. if you can afford it. Don't complain about things you have control over! Pay for it or don't, buy the game, or don't buy the game, but then don't buy it and complain about buying it, because no one cares. Todays economy will force you to spend money wisely, companies or freinds do not force you to buy anything. Choose a game... buy it and hopefully you enjoy what you buy. Thank you all Enjoy DA:O

I wonder if any of you realise that production on the game itself actually was pretty much completed months ago. Its not like they just finish creating the game, package it and release it. There's months of QA, testing, and fixes that take place prerelease to make sure we get a quality product. Given the much quicker and simpler testing and patching necessary for a small content addon they could very easily have thrown this together during the QA process for the main game. And what are you really complaining about, even with the SMALL added cost you're still gonna get your moneys worth. I suppose they could have released it a month or two later just to fool you morons, but why? Either way you get it, either way it'll cost you $7, why not get it sooner than later? Sounds like you're just greedy. Hundreds of people worked thousands of hours to make this game and make it good. Why shouldn't they get paid?

What are you guys? 10 year old !? ... you have to wait for mommy or daddy to give you a few lousy dollars ? Do any of you have ANY IDEA of what it takes to produce this stuff? Look at the game credits of these games.... Do you realize that the bulk, if not all, of those people need to make a living wage? ... not to mention benefits? What about the computers, software, facilities, etc. For God sakes. get a grip! I have been playing games on the PC since the Amiga, and what you guys see now on your PC-xbox-doohickeys is a frekkin' miracle! For God sakes. get a grip!

@lexxxy52 I can see your point, and as I said "to my knowledge" so wasnt completly sure. Also agree that its rude of them to release two DLC's (even though one is free with pre-ordering) on day one and yes it is bioware so not very likely that it'll be shallow, but im worried that it'll have an amazing original start (origins) but after you make who you are the rest will be the same thing, but then saying that KOTOR was the same and I still loved it. I just find it convenient that as bioware are now involved with EA they say they plan two years of expansion packs, probably 15 quid a pop just like most other EA related titles.

@Omegakill0 bioware has charged extra for game content heaps before they had a whole online store dedicated to premium content for neverwinter nights and i don't think that EA had a lot to do with the dlc for Mass Effect (which was disappointing). but i still do think that having day one dlc is a bit rude considering it should just be a part of the original game and on the dis and not extra at the very least it should be given free in brand new copies like the stone prisoner. As for whether or not the game is shallow enough and etc its a bioware game and they are quality so I am currently giving them benefit of the doubt and its not like warden's keep is an essential part of the gaming experience.

I do think Bioware should of stayed independant rather than going with EA, all EA do is tell dev's to release a game, make an expansion sell it for the price of a second hand game and keep doing that and milk it just like they did with the sims 1/2/3 and battlefield games..if it was like a pound then no one would complain and they'd still make millions. To the best of my knowledge Bioware dev's have never charged for an add on (kotor1&2)..still gona buy DA:O and any expansions that may interest me so im not gona say im gona boycot them. I just hope they dont make DA:O too shallow so it forces you to buy the expansions to add depth to the game.

I believe the reason people keep comparing Diablo 3 to Dragon Age is due to the "Days of High Adventure" fantasy setting, as opposed to the actual gameplay mechanics.

HOLY SHAT!!!! That's awesome! I might get over the "DLC on day one" thing now. Pure Win for the game. More DLC's like these will make this the WoW for Consoles(even though it is not an MMO)
Can't wait to get my hands on this.

bartojoe: there's a downloadable program that lets you create your Dragon Age character. you can download it from the Dragon Age website. and yes, you can customize your character's looks completely. the only thing you can't change is how tall he is and how fat he is.

I hear that Darkman217. Of course it is about making money. If they dont make money they cant make good games. Of course we could always go back to Atari when one man could make a game in a month. But here and now the average game is in development for an average of two years. I dont even know why I am wasting my comenting, you will play it for hours on end and not even notice the extra money

The EA philosophy: Charge them for the game, charge them for addons, charge them again two more times for good measure - and don't worry about the bugs, we'll patch it later!

If they want additional money for half of the game - then i'm not buying the product overal, just to protest against such atitude. Seems like a very bad decision from their pricing specialists - they could have just increased the original price or make DLC free of charge or pretend to work on it and release it 3 months later. EA is going the wrong path lately, FIFA10 being a complete copy of FIFA09, now this one ... don't know, feeling dissapointed

"This is a new low, even for EA" ...Nah it pretty much seems on par. ...They hid DRM which, atleast to me, seems much worse, so why would they shy away from a financial gain as easy as this. ...What sucks is it's going to work too.

Though I doubt anyone from bioware is going to read this, guys...step away from EA. ...I know they promised platinum pools but you can settle for the gold plated. ...it's just as impressive.

Pretty stupid from Bioware. At least release it a month or two after, to make it seem like you've been working on it after release. Releasing the DLC at the same time as the game is just a kick in the nuts to the consumer.

I'm going to DL this before I get the game!!! That way I beat the stupidity of their logic even more!!!! Come on...can't they release it now? I'm sure people would love to have the DLC a month before it's released... God, I wish we could organize a boycott of this kind of crap...

  • makiveli100

    Posted Oct 10, 2009 10:49 am GMT

I think people should not get the DLC. They obviously left it out of the game just to make people pay the extra $10 bucks, and I thought RE 5 had no shame when it pulled the same stunt.

  • WulfenMortys

I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds it bloody brilliant (note the sarcasm) that we have to buy DLC on the day of release as well. Thank you, EA.

  • Megadeth-X

    Posted Oct 9, 2009 4:48 pm GMT

I always thought of a DLC to be something to make you revisit a game to some degree, releasing a DLC on day one is a pointless exercise otherwise why not just have it in the standard game? well as we all know, its all just another money spinner. For shame.

Showing a Trailer for a DLC for a Game that has'nt even been released yet.

This is a new Low, even for EA, .. I now realize just how much Bioware Sold Out. .. can't believe I was looking forward to this CRAP!

You can't help but get the feeling that stuff is purposefully being left out of the Title release just so that Sleazy Game Developers can squeeze every last cent out of your pocket.

The sad thing is that 3 years ago Bioware would've put everything they could think of into a release and if they left out anything, you could be damn sure they'd just give it away as a freebie to the fans.

Forget this Corprate S#!T, .. i'll wait for Witcher 2

@anubisofsumeria There is no voice acting for the PC just like all of the other bioware games set in these medieval worlds mass effect was different and because it was different they tried something new with the PC (voice acting). I personally prefer having the PC stay silent that way I can imagine my own voice yelling at those pathetic dwarf commoners
