    CelticRaven163-
I didnt like NWN2 (or 1 for that matter) but loved BG 1 & 2. I also love this game. It's a very different game from NWN.

I wouldnt compare it to mass effect, oblivion or fallout. Very different games - they are more like Baldurs gate (not console BG) and Icewind Dale.

If you havnt played though, chances are you havnt played anything like it. But yeah... even if you didnt like NWN (which was a snorefest) you could still like this, as I do.

I have to agree with those who say who cares about graphics? Seriously, this game is awesome on all consoles, to hell with the minor details, most people cannot afford super-computers to play games. Besides, it's more accessible on consoles, and I am thoroughly enjoying every minute of it.

If i wasn't a fan of NWN 2, am i deluding myself thinking i'll like this game? I'm a huge mass effect/ oblivion/ fallout fan but didn't like NWN 2 at all.

The combat isn't as fast paced as oblivion but there is alot of depth and customization to it, it relates more to star wars Knights of the old republic in terms of gameplay.

Does anyone know how this compares to Oblivion?

aamir69 you're right, xbox360 really sucks, the graphics is really bad, the pc version really looks great, maybe i'll try this on pc eh. i think it really soothes the pc not the console.

leonhart11 not your fault its just xbox360 that sucks, trying to complete against a console which releases games in Blue Ray disc. So its quite obvious you have to compensate such things when you run out of disc space. The game is amazing

Graphics. Graphics. GRAPHICS. Is that all anyone ever cares about anymore? Watta bout the plot? The action? The combat? The cuztomization? Seriously, the graphics look fine. "The 360 version is less attractive" who gives a crap as long as the damn thing is fun to play.

  • TokeyPotter

    Posted Nov 7, 2009 6:27 pm GMT

This style rpg just doesn't appeal to me. As compared with NWN, the amount of variety and story are quite compelling, (graphically or not) however, the combat always left me wishing for more.. much more. Granted, you have full control over your attacks, but then your commands are played out by the AI. If you prefer a combat system that allows you to "pull the strings" behind your character, then you just found yourself hours of enjoyment. If you want to experience more "hands-on" full action/combat then I highly recommend Demon's Souls. That game will rip your assh@le out and feed it to your mother!

Man this game looks awesome! From the few dialog options shown in the vid, I can already make out that the questing and NPC interactions are gonna be memorable. The facial expression animation looks like it could've been better though...

Anyway, can't wait to get my hands on this piece of loot!

    And yeah... Kevin's reviews rock.

Looks like neverwinter nights, and that's a good thing. Nice review but, since when do the reviews sound like they are meant to be informative for "the whole family" btw? When I had kids and was sitting here with my wife it would have really loved this review.

    @ G_instinct:

nevermind the fact that neverwinter nights 2 is a sequel to neverwinter nights 1, which was created by bioware. Which just happens to be the developer of dragon age.

That being said, similarities to NWN2 are largely superficial. The actual mechanics of the combat are radically different. And of course, better story, better characters, better interactions, etc

Brilliant review. Cant wait to play this game......it is sitting in my girlfriends wardrobe and it is only 13 more days till she hands it over and I can play it. As great as BG2 is, replaying it is barely holding me over till I get my gruby little hands on this.

Hate developers that create games that don't look that great, yet maximize your system. Next time use the unreal engine Bioware, get with the times.
