    This game gave me so much more than almost every single game ive ever played. Thank you Bioware, this game was the first of your creations that ive played, and im so glad that i got the gaming PLEASURE of this grand Epic Quest. This were the first game ive ever bothered to get the platina for because ive not thought of any of the other games funny enough to even try to get this achivement. I SWEAR that i wil play Awakening and get the final reward for that game to... I don't know how long i Waited for a proper RPG game since i completed Oblivion on the PS3... I was in the darkness before i could bathe in the glory of this masterpiece of Bioware. Thank you Bioware, Dragon age were/Is My RPG SALVATION!!!

    It seems good, but I don;t like the additional useless side questions. Just like Fallout 3, I hated that. I am just going to get White Knight Chronicles tomorrow instead of this game.

    Nice game, but could someone help me out here, should I also get Mass Effect 2. Heard it's nice but should I get it. Please someone help me out there. Going to also get the Expansion Pack, DA: O Awakening. another great Rpg with an expansion pack which is going to give me alot of time to play. Hope it's going to be at least 50-70 hours, the expansion pack.

    don't buy this game! this game is terrible! it will make you always play it, and when you are not playing it, you think about playing it. it's to additive...

    @ nugXL

    I'm going to assume you've never played any of Bioware's classic brand making DnD games like Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter Nights. This game is a love letter to people who loved Bioware before anyone even heard of KOTOR, and Dragon Age is largely modeled after those games.

    If you just can't wrap your 15 year old sensibilities around DAO, then that's your problem, not Bioware's. The combat is infinitely superior, at least on the PC, to anything presented in either Mass Effect or KOTOR. We want an RPG, not a dumbed down 3rd person shooter with basic RPG elements. The console versions provide a very simplified and dumbed down combat system from what I've heard, so that could be your issue.

    Most of your other complaints seem like minor gripes, and I will agree that the story is far from amazing. But the story isn't the point. The atmosphere, universe, and characters are what suck you in, not the cliched plot about some ancient evil... yadda...yadda...

    You don't like the fact that your character responds to your commands...whatever

    AS far as the console versions go. I noticed how much better this game looks on the PS3. But I just did not care for the game to be honest

    @ nugXL couldn't agree with you. this game is a 7 at best. The battle system is boring as heck, the story is ok, and the bugs drive me up the walls. the worst bug being when you start a battle as the game is saving, you're unable to attack anything while you watch the enemy kill you. the battle system, stopping the battle every second and dont take your eyes off one of them or they will die in 3 seconds. it's a good game, but not the awesome game i was told or kevin seems to think it is.

    @iron

    I played dragon age for a good 20 hours trying to figure out what is so good about it. Sure there are its shining moments, but there are some things I just can't forgive.. regardless, I can't believe this trash is from BioWare.

    I just find it hard to get 'lost' in this game, when I attack something my character says "Right away!" It just seems very awkward... Hands drive me up the wall during cutscenes. Watch for them, they are the most unnatural hands I have ever seen in my life. And the blood is a little ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, I love me lots of blood, but seriously? After fighting some super demon hell rats I get covered from head to toe, speckled with blood? Those are just few things that don't tickle my fancy. Also, as a matter of my opinion.. anyone who thinks Dragon Age has a wonderfully amazing story with epic story telling has never read books like Lord of the Rings, or must not even been familiar with other stories that fall into the fantasy genre.

    geez what's with all the haters/oblivion fanboys spamming this comment page with their BS. Why are you even here? Maybe you played the inferior console versions, but this game rules. I know it's only a matter of opinion, but anyone who dislikes this game is wrong.

    @ nugXL

    no one who's actually played this game or is the least bit familiar with Bioware would say this. DA easily rivals mass effect as one of the best RPGs ever

  • nugXL

    Posted Jan 31, 2010 4:17 am GMT

    I can't believe this trash came from the same developers of a great game like Mass Effect 2.

    at first i was like awwwww no loot, but then i remembered how i probably spent nearly 3x as long as the game was in the menus setting weapons and refitting my tem. this system i think is much better, much more tactical, all its missing is coop with mates to really utilize the choices you make. I think its a blinder of a game and one of the very few i dont skip cut scenes. Its an excellent piece of work. the combat is also much more satisfying with the limits on ammo. I remember just going mad on heat absorbtion and firing like a moron. you cant do that now which improves the pace at which you rip through the game

    @Masterchief-118

    There is an Arcane Warrior class but I think you have to start off as a mage first. Brilliant game though, totally recommend it. Not without its flaws, but the story is mesmerizing.

    I'm trying to decide between buying a 360 with Mass effect(red ring),or,Dragon age.And buy the way,i knoiw Dragon Age is like 150hrs or so.How long is Mass effect.Cause,if its like 30 hrs,its not worth spending almost $300.

  • Link_is_coolest

    Posted Jan 26, 2010 8:37 pm GMT

    Dragon Age sucks, if you want to waste $50 bucks on it then be my guest, but for me it was the biggest waste of 50 bucks of my life, i tried really hard to like it, but i prefer more stealth based gameplay in a more free roaming world, not a series of arenas where you and the bad guys run into and bash each others heads together until one of you dies. sure you can sometimes do a kick to the shin, or you can even hurl your lunch at them if your a mage, but the combat is unengaging and the mechanics of combat make for a total lack of strategy. having trouble with a fight, merely block the door with your fighters and blast away with your mage right? wrong, the enemies go through you people, it wasn't a one time thing, it happens all the time, enough that it isn't a glitch. a game that's unengaging, offers no strategy and is reviewed by a guy who gives every game that so much as come out with a title a 9.0 or above is not worth buying.

    but if you like the play, go buy it, i'm just saying make sure you like the gameplay, because if you're like me and don't then you may find yourself beating you head against a wall for the next couple hours over your horrible decision.

    Im not crazy about RPG's but I like to buy one every once in awhile. I am trying to decide between Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2. I like the whole fantasy thing but I also like the shooting and sci fi in Mass Effect 2. Does Dragon Age have any type of market system to buy upgrades and stuff?

    @bullsfan769
    I do not expect to see a better or even equal game for... probably forever. Get it, if you can spare the cash. Do not pass this one up. If you like, you can wait until the expansion comes out and buy it with the game.

    Nino, you can't install it to the hard drive, it doesn't support it, apparently.

  • Cpt_Everos

    Posted Jan 24, 2010 5:05 pm GMT

    Basically, for anyone who didnt realize it, this is like Knights of the Old Republic. The combat is identical, and the interaction between characters is similar. Overall, its KOTOR in a fantasy setting.

    So all you do is fight in this RPG. I'm not buying unless you can fish or cook in an RPG so I can build my reel-casting skill or baking skill. Pass.
