Eve-Online... I started playing this game some two years ago, it was the first online multiplayer game i had ever started and was intrigued by the sci-fi aspect the game had to offer. I'll be completely honest here, from the go the game can be very lonely and quite daunting to some as it is very slow paced for the first two to three months as you build your skills and get to grips with the way it runs. The new Eve-Trinity expansion has majorly improved the tutorial menus for new players as the the game can be very in depth in the way of ship mods and learning the right skills to be the pilot you want to be, you also get a handy ''Rookie Channel'' for the first month of your time in Eve to speak to other players alike and learn some things that the tutorial menus don't offer.
In the way of in game politics and economy its all managed by the players, by that i mean all the items, ships on the market are put on there by people so without the industrial players in Eve, there effectively would be no market. On the politics side as well, again... Its all player created, alliance wars ect all make the history of who's to be feared and most talked about in the Eve community, So in essence all CCP do is supply the server and game content while the players create the game.
The server is always very stable, and the great thing is it only has the one: Tranquility which supports everyone worldwide so no more choosing which server you would like to play on as it all happens in the one place. Eve-Trinity has now come with a premium content option which is the improved graphic engine and by all standards the game looks great but the only downside is if you dont have quite an up to date PC with a good Internet connection it may cause you some lag, if so you could try and tweak the shadow, texture settings a little.
Learning in Eve has a very different approach to other games on the market, as its all learnt in real time, so if a skill took ten hours to complete it would actually take that amount of time... And the great thing is it still learns while your offline. And unlike any other online game you can never really complete Eve as there is no limit on how many Skillpoints you can attain.
So in conclusion if you like a challenge and are not put off by slow starts then try it, there is so much more to the game but to sit here and talk about every aspect of it would take me hours so i'll list the good and and the bad points below:
Good Points - Highly atmospheric, Great community, In depth ship configuration, Stable server, Good support for newcomers, Great graphics, And all in all a fantastic online experience.
Bad Points - Slightly laggy in some systems, Takes some getting used to, Very slow start.
