    Even though this thread is old, having come across it, I can't leave Shaker59's comment unanswered. I don't know if you'll ever see this, but I wouldn't be entirely opposed to defending your "WWI" comment if you consider the Seven Years War the first real world war (because it basically was), however no one refers to it as WWI, it's just SYW/7YW. I hope this was your intention (and opinion on the subject), but you called it "WWI" as if fact or common knowledge making the post (and yourself) look retarded. If the SYW never crossed your mind though, I regret to inform you that it was/you are in fact retarded. I'd actually prefer it be acceptable to call SYW "WWI" because it did encompass the globe considering the involvement of many European powers' various colonies. For all intents and purposes though, "WWI" should be used to refer to the Great War of 1914-1918, so your comment was ill-received; as it should have been without the neccessary ellaboration.

    hey ferid84 you douche bag! what you see is what you get in total war, you must have been playing too hard on starcraft (trying to win for that mater) that you were disappointed to see that their ad / cut scenes it not actually how you play on the game..

    the game is really good for playing solo. i played the game max resolution and high quality visuals with a AMD new Phenon triple core, 4gb Ram, Geforce 9500 Gt and everything was fine.

    It is a great game, but the game is really bug ridden, the AI is clueless and the campaign map is too easy, not enough turns or battles, especially at sea. Game is GREAT, BUT it's unfinished big time. You will only notice how unfinished the game is if you play it for significant amount of time. The AI is practically non existant, and diplomacy is laughable.

    Honestly this game isn't as good as everyone says it is. If you like campaign and solo play this game is great. I love to be able to control huge armies and send them to wherever I please. Controlling huge armies is very fun sending them to certain positions and overwhelming the opponent with smart manuvers.

    Multiplayer however; lacks alot of depth. Steam is laggy and crashes the game whether online or not. There is no chat room, which isn't good if you'd like to talk to folks when resting from a game. Quick battle is very unbalanced the units you recieve are either under powered or over powered against your opponent.

    Overall Empire Total War is great when campaigning, but it's a complete let down with multiplayer. If you plan to buy this game to play the campaign missions then it may be a good buy, but if your like me and like playing online this game fails under that category.

    Guys, I have the game. If you pass the first shock from the installation and some bugs, you will enjoy a wonderfull game from every aspect!

    After 27 or 28 years in the main campain,the game crash without explanation....Just try to conquer Cherokee Nation,Prussia,or even Sweden is Impossible,because the game always crash after you win the battle....I gave up,and,unistall the game...But is a nice game.

    lol ive read 2 comments down comparing this stupid game to starcraft, wake up ppl this game is compared to civilization or the lame sins of solar empire....your are just watching cut scenes while the actual game play was like 1% in this video...

    wow this game looks amazing the cannons are sweet and naval battles look awesome i am not very good at the whole starcraft type of movement thing but screw my defect i am so getting this lol. i was thinking about getting halo wars but i am definetely getting this first...halo wars later. lol

    Yes this game is a master pice after a few patches. Right now it's a 8.5. If they fix the bugs i think i will go for a 9.6 or 9.7.

    greatness!!! Finally the total war team finally came out with a game in that time period, I had enough of this middle ages RTS game stuff like AOE and game like it though they did come out with there own game in ths same time period but it was not really to the same scale as the total war series and a bunch of starcraft/warcraft game and clones being pumped out like crazy.
