    This game is gorgeous, even today. The bright colors, the cheery art style... It's very nice, and detailed despite the blockiness.

    @Link-reaper

    The Heroes in Warcraft III are souped-up units that you build from a special building at your base, such as the Orc's "Altar of Storms." Heroes' attacks are stronger than a regular unit's, and as the Hero fights it gains experience points, like a character in a role-playing game would. Each time it gains a level, a Hero gets a "Hero Point" that can be spent on one of several special abilities, like an area-of-effect attack, or a spirit to summon and have fight by your side. These abilities have to be triggered separately from a regular attack.

    Also, Heroes can pick up special items off the ground that grant various bonuses, such as a pair of claws that give an attack boost, or a potion that can return health or mana (used to cast spells, again like a role-playing game). These items are stored in the Hero's inventory, which is only six spaces, but they can be removed if you want to swap them for something more useful.

    As for the review, Greg did superb as always. It's a little irksome that the video quality was iffy, but then again it IS from 2002. This game is a masterpiece.

    Fails to mention how freaking amazing the customization is, I didn't even play matches online for this game, I played tags and arenas and all kinds of fun stuff!
