Do you consider Yukiko low, mid or high tier?

- Jan 26, 2013 4:37 am GMTI usually don't care about tiers, always pick the character I like most. Since I wanna main Yukiko when I get the game, I'm curious about it, just that. I've read that she is somewhat between Mid and Mid-Low but really want to know your impressions on her.
- Jan 26, 2013 4:59 am GMTThe game is relatively balanced, but she is usually considered bottom tier, along with several others. She is also quite difficult to master, so it's not like S tier Aigis where you get a big payoff for your hard work.
- Jan 26, 2013 8:47 am GMTI'm honestly not even entirely sure if the Tier layout is even A to C
Maybe I'm being pedantic since it's really just a change of scale but it's probably more S to B, with Yukiko being B+ on that scale

P4 Arena: Yukiko/Shabrys
BBCS EX: Valkenhayn/Hakumen - Jan 26, 2013 10:22 am GMTI think the general consensus is that
S - Aigis, Mitsuru
S~A+ - Yu, Chie, Teddie
A - Everyone else
B+ - Yukiko, Naoto, Liz
B - Kanji, Labrys
Or something similar at least - Jan 26, 2013 10:27 am GMTI would switch Liz and Labrys in that tier list.

You cannot select this due to restrictions on connection quality - Jan 26, 2013 11:03 am GMTSo she is like Mid-Low tier! Well, I will still main her lol.
- Jan 26, 2013 11:11 am GMTYou forgot to put Akihiko in the S tier. He's really underrated, but used well, the dude is a BEAST! He is not lower than S tier at all.

"Do you think I'm cute...?" http://static.zerochan.net/Amaterasu.full.1006489.jpg - Jan 26, 2013 12:17 pm GMTCompared to the top tiers, Akihiko lacks a lot of stuff. So he is kinda mid tier.
S: Aigis, Mitsuru
A: Teddie, Chie, Yu
B: Akihiko, Yosuke, Naoto, Labrys, Slabrys, Yukiko
C: Kanji, Liz
This is the list imo. Its pretty close to other official lists, but a lot of them have Slabrys in C tier. - Jan 26, 2013 2:09 pm GMTAkatsuki-Sensei posted...

You post a combo video to prove your point? Do you even know how tiers work?
Not to mention most of those are fatal counters > corner with some of them reliant on 150 meter and gold burst.
Now please tell me about the character match-ups and how many of them he actually wins.

The Combos are Ok, but the end of the video is the best part. What I want to prove is how Asian-level Akihiko works. You can clearly see that Akihiko has the potential to dodge or counter almost every attack thrown at him. Akihiko isn't greatly affected by match-ups, wouldn't you say? He has fast attcks, good defensive and offensive options... His ignored parry is really good...
My main point is: Akihiko is too strong for mid-tier. The P3 characters are the hardest ones to use, that's why they are the best. I feel like you are throwing him at B tier because he lacks ranged attacks. That's it? Poor range = bad character? Akihiko deserves better than that. If it's not for the short range, please, tell me why, because I can't seen to find out myself.

And it doesn't mean a character is bad when they're not in S tier...

Wasn't sure about Shabrys, been seeing a lot of top players from Japan speak highly of her - Jan 26, 2013 3:57 pm GMTI can't nor really don't know how to explain this, but Aki is not S tier. He's good, but not that good. Ugh I just can't explain.

Alright, here's a really fun fact I'm gonna share with you guys: The tier list does not matter unless you are playing at a high competitive level. The reason for this is because at that level, the difference in skill is so small that matches essentially boil down to what a character can do and what they can't.
Unless you are playing at that level, you won or lost because of the difference in skill (or lag, depending on how bad the lag is). Not only that, people have their own personal tier lists anyway depending on the character they play and their experiences against other characters. Tiers, match-ups, skill, blahblahblah who gives a flying **** hit X or pass so I can play the goddamn game.
To answer TC's question, Yukiko is about mid-low tier for me. Just don't take that too seriously.

Isn't that a given? Same with matchups - Jan 26, 2013 4:23 pm GMTlunarXskies posted...

Yup, that is a given. Which is why random casuals arguing about why character X should be better or if character Q is ACTUALLY bottom tier even though they have tools similar to character Z has never made sense to me and I never pay attention to it. Seeing it on this board makes it a little more difficult to ignore, even though I really should.

LMFAO no.
I consider Yukiko crap. She needs a big buff before she is even remotely viable.

That doesn't prove he's S tier. He has the potential to do those things doesn't mean they are viable. Well most of the time the gameplay is to get up close and in your opponents face.
Indeed, poor range is one of the things he lacks. Another is his pressure game. Although, it's solid. There isn't much he can do unless he commits to it. He's quite lacking in the air game as well as his general mobility. Whilst his mix-up options aren't particularly great.
I would like to say that what makes Akihiko strong is making good reads, but the obvious issue is that making good reads is good for every character.
I'm not denying he's good, but he's not S tier. Anyway, we're derailing the topic. If you want to carry on this discussion feel free to PM me or whatever.
Back to the topic at hand, I guess B- (mid tier), well actually. Probably between low tier- to lower mid. I'm not sure what to classify her.
