I'm sure i'm repeating the same questions but i'm new here. I have a Vita and am really wanting to buy it but i'm unsure if we're getting it here in the US. I keep seeing that they state you can play for free on the Vita, yet some game features like offline play is locked out. Is this game just geared towards online only?? Or is it the same as past PSO games?? Also I keep seeing that IPs are blocked on the servers. I know I can connect to to JP PSN on my Vita since i've added yen and have got dlc from it. I just wonder what all of this IP stuff is?? Is it just for the PCs?? As for PSN accounts is it true you can only have one character on it?? If so how do you get the arc cash they speak of?? Any help would be nice since i'm far behind on my homework on getting this game and only have a short time to get all my facts. Thanks.

The way the IP blocking works is any device that connects to the internet, be it a computer, your Vita, etc. has an IP address. (Usually if you're at home, all of your stuff will share one IP address) You can find out where someone is by tracking their IP address. It's not hard for Sega, or anyone else, to only allow IP addresses from certain regions to connect to their servers.

The rest, I don't know most of it. PSO2 is online only, your characters are saved on Sega's servers, not locally. I don't see a problem with you downloading the game with your Japanese account, the problem there is will the game let you connect, or block your IP for being outside of Japan?

If SEGA is not blocking me from playing PSO2 on my PC from the other side of the globe, they are not IP blocking you to join the JP server on your Vita.

Just try to not use public chat if you want to minimize your chance of getting reported.

Arks Cash is basically cash shop currency. You can probably buy it with PSN points.

So you think I should just buy the game and hope for the best??? I'd hate to get it just to find out I can not connect at my house. I do have a 4g modem and it should work.

Unless you are buying the premium boxed edition somewhere online, it's free. Don't worry about getting blocked. I just started playing on pc the last two weeks. I think the blocking was a temporary thing.

Especially if you've played the original PSO before, it's easy to pick up and I'm learning as much as I need to to get by. Don't worry about having to figure out everything at once.

You will need a separate memory stick if you've already signed into your domestic psn account. Only one psn account per memory stick.

Do join ship 2 for the best chance at running into other English players, already friended one person. I mainly just keep to myself and do my own thing in the lobbies. Just don't go around talking English there.

And the moral of the story is, appreciate what you've got, because basically, I'm fantastic. - Holly
