- The Bottom Line:
- "Highly addictive"
Disney did an update and now basic members can buy light galleons and get the voodoo doll. Makes pirating even more fun. That means you don't have to be a paying member to have a blast and get great enjoyment from the game, this was the one thing that held it back. Giving too little to the basic members - just a bare taste of the game. Now you can get some real enjoyment as a free member.
And the paid subscription is not that expensive and doubles your weapons from three to six after you go through the quests to qualify for them. And you also unlock more skills for the weapons you already have and can buy larger ships so sail with.
And something to appeal to the girls especially with the unlimited subscription is the ability to buy a variety of clothing.
While you can get sunk by taking on an enemy ship that is too strong there is no danger of losing your ship permanently as can happen in Pirates of the Burning Sea. You simply pay for repairs and set sail again.
That same for fighting on land - when you die in battle you wake up in jail with a temporary reduction in health.
One of the most enjoyable things is encountering your favourite characters from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies throughout the course of the game.
You will meet and talk with Captian Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann, Barbossa, Joshamee Gibbs and more throughout the game.
you have a friends list of 50 so pick and choose carefully but be careful of which guild you choose.
Some guilds are small others are large but like all MMOs some of the larger ones don't screen their members and include bullies and point stealers.
So be careful.
The game is a blast and often is played by families.
There is a Disney censor in the chat to make it great for players of all ages.
it is easy enough for children and fun enough for everyone.
I highly recommend for every one who loves the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp as much as I do because you will love this game.

The game itself is good enough for the $5 membership, but horrible loading issues and constant lock ups bring it down.
