Plants vs. Zombies (Game of the Year Edition) User Review
This addictive little gem may seem as though it'd be best played in short bursts, but good luck getting yourself to stop

Plants vs Zombies is simple. It's a simple game that I often play in windowed mode whilst I take care of some other business. Of course, that may not be the smartest decision, because Plants vs. Zombies is also a game that sucks me away from every other duty, despite it's simplicity. For 10 bucks, this baby is packed with game, and while I do agree that it takes too long to reach challenging levels, it's just a fun charming and interesting affair.
When I decided to get the game, I almost laughed when I saw the size of it, for a mere 23 megabytes doesn't seem like much these days-- But file-size isn't everything, because this game is seriously brimming with style, character, and gameplay modes, and while the gameplay may essentially remain the same, those zombies are just too funny and those plants are just too cute and the combination of the two is simply just to zany to put down.
The game isn't perfect, and some may lack the desire to careen through level after level of vegetable on zombie action, but... For those that this game interests even a tad. It's well worth the price of admission as a perfect little montony breaker, time filler or something similar-- But be warned, this game can take you the distance just as easily as it can fill up something small, and thanks to a beautifully wise saving system that saves right where you left off, even mid-zombie raid, you can play it for 2 minutes or even 30 seconds at work and make some progress.
Plants vs. Zombies is bright, colourful, cheery, hilarious, ridiculous, and just about every other antonym for mundane.
It's a game that shouldn't work so well, but does. Beautiful execution in even the most minor places makes this a game worth playing and one that can be played in brief, or ad nauseum.
A wonderful little beastie from Popcap.

Plants VS Zombies shows that sophisticated gameplay can co-exist with silly premises, but the PC version lacks updates.
