Unable to sign into psn? Anyone else? Error code 8001050F

It means PSN is down and you can't login. Not sure what the fault is yes but its probably caused by a Server side upgrade. Sony will fix and apologies today I bet. Nothing you can do to your PS3 until its fixed.

I've just got the same problem myself today (3/01/10) in Australia. I've been looking around and from what I understand it something to do with a network problem which apparently is in the process of being fixed. Of course I've also heard lot's of wild solutions from repeatedly turning off your PS3 or router to formatting the hdd, however I'd most likely suggest patience until it can be confirmed by PS officials.
