PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale User Review
- Difficulty:
- Just Right
- Time Spent:
- 20 to 40 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Ambitious"
As far as of today, I would say its worth the money.
The game gives the same feeling as its brother "Super Smash Brothers".
Good stuff: The game takes tha same SMB logic of game-play and transforms it in something else but with the same beat-up-your-friends style. It took the best out of some of the best ps3 games made so far and has created an amount of worlds where you can get a glimpse of how it would be to mix them all.
The time you can spend playing this with your friends could be hours.
Besides the multi player, the arcade mode is long enough to test your skills in battle and depending on the level it could become a more than challenging battle depending on the world and the enemy.
The game controls are pretty easy to learn and are almost the same for all the characters, the hard part is the variation of the type of move made with and specific button from one character to another.
And for the last good thing, I loved the cut scene presented at the beginning of each battle.
Bad/Improvable stuff: 20 fighters is just not enough, when you have played for two hours or more, you realize how short is the list of playable characters you have.
I would ask for more players, players that were left out and should have been there: Crash Bandicoot, Snake from Metal Gear, Sev from Killzone, the Journey guy, etc.
Another thing is the fact that the story mode only has pictures for each part of the character's story line. Come on, there should be videos for that.
Considering all of this, I give an 8.5 and you should give a shot with your friends for sure.

If you are expecting a game that's exactly as Super Smash Bros., you are partially wrong...

This game is pretty fun and addictive. It is so fun that I wouldn't classify it as a ripoff.
