- "Highly addictive"
I'm back, and here to review one of the greatest games ever created. Pokemon Red... my friend Tanner gave it to me because he thought I should try Pokemon, and now I love Pokemon.
Red may be an RPG, but it's not the type of RPG with pages and pages of text, which makes it good, and very suitable for kids. It's also nice to hear something that isn't like anything ever told before.
The graphics may be outdated by a longshot, but these are some of the most appealing graphics I've ever seen. Seriously, I'd rather play this game just because of it's graphics, than games on HD consoles with HD graphics. It's also nostalgic just to look at and play, it reminds me of the good old days watching Pokemon, and playing Pokemon Stadium. It is just like an 8-bit game, but it feels better to play... For some reason, the graphics on older systems were better, since it wasn't all about graphics back then.
The gameplay is extremely addicting, I played for two hours straight and didn't even know, that's how great it is. It's like a simple RPG, with the walking around, doing side quests, text (but little text), and a battle system (but a new battle system that feels great). You can play this game for hours on end, and this game can be as long as you want it to be.
The sound is amazing, even for low-quality. It's fun to hear the original Pokemon themes, it's very nostalgic. I have no complaints about the sound in this game, really. Sure, some may find it annoying with some screeches in battles, but I love it, it's the sense of a true adventure again.
There is quite a bit to do in this game. If you're a person that's gotta catch em all, then you will have have more than fifty hours, and if you do all of the side quests, and level them all up to level 100, then there's one hundred and more hours.
Overall, I have no complaints about this game. I have not encountered any flaws with the game, and that's why I enjoy it so much. Pokemon Red is easily one of the greatest games ever created.

Time to catch 'em all in the very first Pokemon game. This game is a perfect start for a video game series to come.

Unchallenging, bland, and unstimulating, despite the ambitious concept.

Sabrina uses Psychic types, and strong ones at that. There were some rough spots when dealing with Mr.Mime and Alakazam, but I got through the mess.Posted Aug 4, 2011
