This guy was the best reviewer. He always went into detail and talked about everything you want to know as a gamer watching a review. He never left anything out as so many others do these days.
huh...so in 2006 an 8 to 12 hour fps was considered of mediocre length...earlier i was watching the Homefront review and it appears a 5 to 8 hour long fps is considered of mediocre length...in 5 years we'll be playing 20 minute fps's
If some of you guys are interested, it's on sale at Direct2Drive for only $5.95. Thought I might let you guys in on it. :)
@megamagition Right on, man! Prey came out a year before Portal came out, and was thought of before Duke Nukem Forever was thought of. This game just moved up big-time on my video game wall of fame. :- D
Well, after purchasing Prey when it came out 5 years ago and watching this review now, I can say that I still like it just as much, and more, as I enjoyed Doom 3. Doom 3 was pretty good because it was scary and had some good "jump" sequences, but this is better I think because of the Native American background and the portals. I liked the fact that Tommy finally accepted his Cherokee roots and used them against the aliens. And the biological weapons/spaceship was pretty cool as well.
Wow its not often they refer to the achievement/trophy difficulty etc in a review. They should do it more often

I miss Gertsmann his sacking was a debacle that meant many of the old editors also left and to me the family aspect of the site died.
prey 2 was just announced , link http://www.gametrailers.com/news/prey-2-officially-announced/3151
This is a great game...I have played this game and completed it. It is one of the best FPS games that i have played and i have enjoyed it thoroughly. The game is pretty straight forward. Not many puzzles to solve and is more action oriented. Those who do not prefer this might have a problem with this game. Otherwise it is a great game.
See people what we have been missing? FPS games 4 years ago lasted for up to 12 hours in campaign, now all we get if we are lucky is 4-5 hours of gameplay and we pay 50-60$ for it..
This game deserves at least 8.5 of score. The reviewer didn't mention about how catchy is the story, the atmosphere and the events in the game really puts you in the character boots, and the final parts of the game are totally epic, one of the most interesting endings I ever saw. This game was really underrated, a total shame...
@filmboy85 That's exactly what I was thinking. @Deveousdevil Yep... He was the best... the best that ever was. *tips a 40*... I mean http://giantbomb.com
"The development team left to go work on Duke Nukem Forever".... that worked out well
This game is weird. Spaceship eaten by an alien and spirit transformation? Really?
I beat this game so long ago I vaugely remember it, I traded it in a long time ago when i got my ps3. It was a decent game

I agree with jamiep73: this was a game I set aside. And then came back and enjoyed the hell out of. Comments: art direction was mentioned - in passing - during the review, but should be emphasized. Prey looks great: slimy walls, anus-like fissures that dump on you as you pass, cool character design - it all works. And ran flawlessly on my (then) upper-mid-range system. No issues whatsoever. Great audio. The main character is pretty surly most of the time and there are some really laugh-out-loud bits of dialog. Also, the whole "world's being invaded while you're running around the Mothership" thing is handled really well via radio broadcast's that you tap in to from time to time (these start as typical paranoid 'abduction' pieces full of "little green men" and turn in to "holy sh!t - we're being invaded!" updates). Nice details & very effective. For what it's worth, I'm not a big multi-player playa'. I tend to like interesting environments, big guns and snappy dialog. I don't really care about leveling-up, attribution points or 'open worlds'. When it comes to FPS, I like solid, linear single player campaigns (NOLF, RtCW). I suppose that I like 'cinematic' games, and realize that I might be in the minority here. Yeah, I'm an older guy (I actually played the release version of ZORK). But if it sounds like something you'd like, give Prey a shot. What do you have to lose? $4.00? That's nothing, a couple coffees and a donut these days...
Didnt like it all that much at launch, tried it again recently and it was 10 times better.
