This is a classic example of how to milk a franchise

"Uninspired"
Ubisoft, I still remember when you brought back the legendary Prince of Persia. After the awful first 3d game, you made the Sands of Time, perhaps one of the best games ever made. After that you continued with Warrior Within and then The Two Thrones for finish the amazing trilogy of the Sands of Time. In 2008 you decided to reboot the franchise and made an underrated game with beautiful art and Elika, one of the best computer controlled character ever made (perhaps rivaling Alyx Vance). But why return to the Sands of Time again and if you had at least explained how the Prince got bitter and such an anti hero because the Dahaka was chasing him then I could have forgiven you but no, you created one of the most boring stories ever made and never explained anything that could give us a clue the Prince personality at Warrior Within. Well, let's start this review.

Story: Despite being in the Sands of Time universe, this one is just a boring filler. The Prince travels to his brother palace (first time he mentions he has a brother) and he finds it under attack. Just some travel through the palace (this reminds me of something) and his brother unleash an ancient power that freezes in sand almost everyone except Malik and the Prince (again reminds me of something). The Prince now must undo what Malik did with the help of a Djin girl called Raztha, Rastha, or something like that with one half of the medallion Malik used for unleash the power. The story don't bring anything interesting later so let's go on.

Gameplay: Sands of Time was a great game but with an awful combat system, Ubisoft fixed that with Warrior Within and The Two Thrones. Now, what happened I don't know because the combat is mindless, just press the left button and you will kill the enemies. No combos, no defense and counter, nothing like that. The only good part is the platforming stuff but still, it isn't so great like the old games. Alot of times it requires alot of trial and error for get the job done. Also, it is quite annoying to start pressing some buttons just for freeze water alot of time or make some old stuff appear again.

Sound: Yuri Lowenthal, the charming voice actor of the Prince returns to voice him again. After that, there wasn't alot of voice acting, only the Prince complaining about something, thinking something or entering in sarcastic mode. The music was ok, nothing great like the original of Prince of Persia 2008. At least it wins against Warrior Within, the one with the worst music in my opinion.

Graphics: Not the greatest ever, in fact, they were just in par with the majority of games on these times. One thing to note about is that Ubisoft changed the Prince look, now he doesn't look like the old Prince of the original Sands of Time trilogy. Just a note for all the people that played the trilogy.

Overall: Ubisoft just made this game for get advantage of the movie and they did it wrong. A filler and uninspiring story, mediocre combat system, camera issues, annoying button placement and a bad camera too, this is what Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is. And lets not forget about the DRM Ubisoft put in the PC version of this game. Unless you are a die hard fan of Prince of Persia then I suggest buy this game but preferably no for not tarnish the great image of the Sands of Time. The only good thing of this game is the platforming and it isn't still enough. Another thing that I didn't like is that I felt Ubisoft recycled alot of things like the introduction level.

This is normal mode in level 7(Wine Cellar). The clip shows where to unlock [ELIXIRS OF LIFE 6/9] and [FEATHER FALL] achievements.
