Colin McRae to return in 2007

Rally sequel will be exclusive to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Codemasters has confirmed that it is developing a new Colin McRae Rally game, which is set for release in 2007. The game has been given the working title of CMR '07 and is in development for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. It will feature races with multiple cars on one track simultaneously, as well as online multiplayer.

The series has been on a break for two years now, and the time has allowed Codemasters to implement racing modes that will supplement the traditional point-to-point rallying in the form of hill climb and rally cross events. CMR '07 will also offer cars that have been modeled on the real thing, in addition to official rally tracks from around the globe. Although little else is known about the game at this stage, Codemasters is also promising gravel, mud, and dirt racing and a wide variety of off-road and rally disciplines.

The game is still in an early stage of development, but we'll keep you up to date on all the latest developments.

Thta's great for Colin McRae video game fans, but where's my Ralisport 3 Microsoft? If Microsoft is not going to make a new Ralisport Chalenge game (the first two games where two of my favorite racing agmes of all time), then they should at least allow people to play both of the previous Ralisport Chalenge games on the Xbox 360.

Colin McRae Rally is pretty good stuff. I really liked it on the PSX...never really thought it took off on the PS2 though.

Funny how they say "exclusive" thenn say 360 and PS3 .. basically its not exclusive then because its on two systems... "Colin McRae 2047 exclusive only to microsoft sony and nintendo and PC..."

Excellent! Now I hope they bring it to the US! Instead we get Nascrap and Gran Turismo. Heck, we cant even get a good Formula 1 racing game over here.

This is one of those racing games that can show some neat stuff from the next gen consoles. I wonder how well does the 360, and the ps3 will handle the physicis and car handling from these cars.

Sweeet! Hope it definitely comes to the U.S. This is right up there with my most anticipated games. Even if there were not other cars to race I love rally, racing the track is always exhilarating.

I have always loved Colin Mcrae Rally. Hopfully a good race wheel comes out by then. And as long as the inside the car view, and unforgiving realizim is there I'll be happy. Oh yeah and realistic damage. Sim racers are so much better than arcade.
