'Psychonauts' is a third person Platformer/Adventure game created by 'Tim Schafer'. It was also developed by 'Double Fine' productions and published by 'Majesco' then released onto XBOX in 2006.
The story of the game centres around a young boy called 'Rasputin'. After learning that he has psychic abilities, Razputin decides to run away from the circus in search of an area that was once hit by a 'Psitanium Meteor', now home to the 'Whispering Rock Psychic Summer Camp'. A place where individuals develop their psychic abilities under the watchfull eye of Psychonauts agents 'Sasha', 'Milla Vodello', 'Coach Morceav Oleando' and 'Ford Cruller'.
After sneaking into 'Whispering Rock' Razputin is quickly discovered by the camps residents, but is allowed to remain on campus until his father collects him. But it doesn't take long before he's soon drawn into a sinister plot shortly after Psychonauts agent Sasha discovers Rasputin has an unusual high level of psychic ability !
Gameplay basically consists of Rasputin entering the minds of various characters in and around the Whispering Rock campus. Gameplay also takes place in both the 'Real World' and the 'Mental World'.. The real world is the place where Rasputin perseus his dreams of becoming a Psychonaut. Whilst the mental world is an imaginary place where Rasputin battles against various characters emotional baggage. Both the real world and the mental world are littered with dozens of secrets which enable Rasputin to progress through the ranks of the psychonauts, eventually gaining abilities such as telekinesis, levitation, invisibitity, pyrokinesis ect.
Personally speaking, if your seeking an unusual insane psychedelic adventure from the creator of 'Grim Fandango' and 'Day Of The Tentacle', then you'll probably enjoy 'Psychonauts'.

Psychonauts is, without a doubt, the most creative 3-D platformer you'll find in its respective generation of consoles.
