THE REVIEW IS MADE AS TO MY OPINION AND EXPERIENCE, IS UNWILLING TO SAY THAT GAME SUCKS!

READ THIS LINE BEFORE COMMENTING ON , CHRIST! For other 10 years i always think "Quake 3 Arena is the best Fps i ever played". i'm wrong.
Unfortunately, in ten years I have tried many games: Quake 3 Team Arena, Jedi Knights 2, Painkiller, Unreal Tournament 2004 and many other fps. This year I decided to dust off games that I abandoned for years, especially Quake3 and unfortunately it was not a good return:

1 - Online mode: All shot, no tatical : This is the real flaw of the game. Sure, a game where you shoot should not be limp like Battlefield play4free, but not excessively like this. The problem is not the single player, but the online as it turns into a bloody slaughterhouse without any tactics. The problem is the fact that many host servers are not present or weapons or supplies, so people like me who likes to look for objects in the maps or those who prefer the tactic, he finds himself faced with an ordinary gun shoots.

2- LAG Wins the Match: The problem arises for those who like me have a lousy connection. But despite this, there are games like Unreal Tournament 2004 that can be solved only part of this problem, in fact I can play decently, where decent means: no sudden disconnections, no shots are not going to sign anything and clicks; in quake 3 there are all these defects and therefore anyone with a high ping will substantially in the ......

In other words: those of Quake 3 was a disappointment really hot because I did not expect a game so badly. Unfortunately, his expansion, Quake 3 Team Arena, has an interesting game structure, with new and tatical modes, like the Harvest, where a team must kill the member of the other team and take their skull to make point, and that is really funny.

Gameplay: 4, only shoot and no more.

Online: 6, this is my opinion, because i have an horrible connection.

  1. With Quake 4's editor, I made a handful of maps that would later compile into a "Quake 2 for 4" mod. The level layout and texturing was purposely aweful so to remind you of the aweful graphics from the good old days.
