Alright now im a huge fan of quake but this one really got on my nerves. There really wasnt anything special here. The graphics were horrible and the gameplay was almost equally as bad. It just seemed like an average shooter with no special uummph behind it.
Now the fact is that it is a shooter and comes from a great name. However the nintendo 64 just didnt have the engine strong enough to bring this game to life.
Another thing that I couldnt explain is the fact that it made me continually nautcious. The way the camera moved and stuff made me feel like I was going to vomit at times and that obviously impairs your gaming. The game is rather short but just a fun little game to run around and shoot. If your a fan of the series then its always fun to go back and take a look.
However if your not a fan of the series, i recommend just keep walking. Thats right, just keep on walking.

Quake is a solid shooter that could've been so much more if released a little earlier during the Nintendo 64's lifespan

A nice PC port, but this wasn't enough to make this game worth buying even in 1998.

Quake is a solid game and could be slightly enjoyable to those who missed out on the PC classic.

- With Quake 4's editor, I made a handful of maps that would later compile into a "Quake 2 for 4" mod. The level layout and texturing was purposely aweful so to remind you of the aweful graphics from the good old days.Posted Nov 10, 2010
