@SuperYeti22 They are working on Rage since 2004, at that time Bordelands wasn't nor in programming. . Inform yourself better instead of saying crap.
These graphics running at 60 FPS on the 360 are some of the best graphics on console. It looks amazing and will run so smooth.
look like fallout 3 , borderlands and so on !! But this game is something else the moving, the Environment , the game play , vehicles and other stuff make perfect + id make i say en off .
thoes graffics are the best i have seen in a game full stop. there amazing, on also looked very smooth. i wonder what the multiplayer will be
For the people calling this a Borderlands rip-off, this has been in develpment since 2004, before Borderlands was announced.
for all you people saying that you cant loot bodies anyone else notice tha a button promt when he kills an enemy
The ladder climb was fail. He doesn't/can't loot. Interface is kinda like AC. electricity was epic. Not saying this is something they won't fix, but hopefully they do.
when this page loaded something about command and conquer pops up asking for a user name and password anyone else see this or know why it pops up?
all you guys who are saying this is a Borderlands clone: This was in development before Borderlands was and one of the main reasons Borderlands changed their art style was to separate themselves from being called a "Rage clone". It looks like they are just taking their time with Rage to make it the best game they can which is awesome IMHO. Borderlands was Diablo as a 1st person shooter. The enemies weren't very smart and the characters weren't very memorable. I loved Borderlands, but I'm looking forward to this game giving me the immersion that Borderlands lacked.
looks like a pretty cool game. ressembles boarderlands but looks like it hasa way better graphics. finally a open world game with good graphics and not 3rd person. boarderlands dosn't count and everybody plays fallout 3 in 3rd person.
He's talking about the central hub and side missions like that is something we are new to. If you've played Borderlands, you've got the general idea.
Well, I can't believe this. Back in the day, everyone copied id's games. Now, is id copying everyone's games. Borderlands: same color palette, same desert setting, pretty close weapon design (that revolver is way too similar), same "stylized" look (which Borderlands nail better), same armed buggies (though Rage does improve on that), same "hub-dungeon" approach. But the similarities don't end there, oh no, it emulates Fallout 3 in it's "open world" approach, post apocalyptic theme, the whole "survivor of the vault" character scheme and dialogue. I know you people will say that all my arguments are hard to validate, since all those points are now common gaming fare. But I think if I were id, I would have checked the market first in order to avoid rising this kind of comments. Borderlands was on development from early 2006, Fallout 3 even before than that. Now they are releasing alongside Fallout Vegas, and Killzone 3 looms in the horizon. This video doesn't really show any new or interesting gameplay mechanics to make it stand out (buggies don't count). I really want to like this game. I've had id's games ever since Wolf 3D, but every time something about Rage comes out, I keep getting disappointed. Maybe I'm too skeptical after Doom 3 and Quake 4's failures, or maybe Half Life 2 and Bioshock set the standards too high for me. Guess we'll have to wait and see. I hope id make a great game. But so far, there's nothing new on the table. Just another post apocalyptic FPS.
I say this game plays like bioshock. Reminds me of playing quake 4. Dark environments look like Riddick. All in all looks pretty good. Driving looks like fun. Environments look kind of bland.
oh and the fact that this is running on a 360 is shocking. kudos to id for producing some stellar visuals on an underpowered (compared to a high end pc) platform. wonder if they will split this on multiple discs or just cut content out like carmack was saying
looks amazing. only problem is with how long it takes id to turn out a game, other games come out and do what they had planned on doing. so this game has elements of bioshock, borderlands and fallout but it could just be a case of those games coming out sooner. still, the technology and character animation is astounding.
He pretty much scratched off the surface of RAGE's contents, but one important question wasn't asked: What about boss fights? Or are there any at all? Are u talkin "instance based" levels here? Or is it a more integrated type of setting change? It feels and looks like a natural game, none like that generic stat based crap that you feel in borderlands. I hope they keep it that way.
Must of us have been tracking and waiting for this game....so make sure before release that it is playable....so far so good and keep it coming.
Looks unoriginal, but what is original these days... I only hope that they actually make it more then just "Oooooooo... Graphics."
