Hello I recently got this game seeing as I love MH and the phantasy star games and this seemed like a mix of the two. Been playing for a bit and seem tp be having a pretty rough go of it. Hardly get any weapon drops and it seems after x refinement a certain material I need doesn't drop till next chapter. ( that's what happend last chapter anyway)
Seems like my bow is really weak compared to other class weps and I currently can't lvl it up past 3 or 4 and I'm stuck on the chapter 2 boss. Idk if I need to farm more, if I'm just bad lol, or there's something that I just don't understand. I don't have any friends with a vita so I'm pretty much playing solo.
Any advice or if you have anything that you could near me that would help ( I don't want anything game breaking I still want to enjoy the game for the farm feast it is but this brutal atm). My psn is Mushra215.

Chapter 2 boss would be Hrassvelger? I don't think you need anything beyond your first weapon to beat it... As long as it's a 1 vs 1 battle, I think you can spam him a respectable amount of damage with T,T,O,O,O or T,T,T,O,O for arrow vulcan and arrow shower respectively

But then again, isn't Brokkr supposed to give you a bow after you done his quest to collect some metals or something

You need Atk Card to boost the damage

Ya I had no idea that quest was going to give a weapon and when I did it I was testing out another class ( I still prefer hunter) so I got a sword instead :\ . I have a couple level 1 attack ups just doesn't seem to help much. Just seems that when ever I try to do a decent combo he just smacks me with his tail even if I try to dodge I still get hit.
Maybe I just need to keep trying....orc king took forever for me to get took... just hard to tell if I'm actually taking a dent out of it or not. I mostly just run in hit triangle a few times then gtfo, every time I try to do more he just kinda eats my face lol

Even though Brokkr gave you a sword for completing that quest, you can go into his buy menu and buy one of the weapons you didn't get from that quest - assuming what you have isn't already better.
Haven't done him as hunter yet - only completed him as sword warrior - so I can't give any advice for killing him as one, unfortunately.

i went through the whole game as Hunter solo, and still do. Although not always solo now. Just cuz you have no friends on PSN doesn't mean you cant go online and play with randoms. Although the skll level isnt so great online lol. Umm i went through the game with a bow i got early on so you'll be okay. You just have to learn the ways of Hunter. Always be aware of everything. You have to be quick. For comboes on ground I typically just spam TTOOO. If theres a mob and i have an opening(since its slow) I use TTTOO. In the air just use TTTO. Dont use the last O. TTTO, dodge. TTTO, dodge. For this boss at least. and on the ground just use TTOOO and dodge. On ground you should typically dodge backwards to get distance from the enemy. You just have to get used to his moves and know when you can atack and when you have to dodge. Well, hope that helps.

Ya you can make the bow from that quest but I don't have the crimson w/e item... my current bow does 2 dmg more than it anyway at 50 atk. @Blanzer alright I guess I just need to get better at my timeing etc and knowing you can make it with an earlyish bow makes me worry less and know I just have to get better lol on a general basis are there any chapters etc I should look to farm particularly to help with hunter.

You can get another Crimson Oridecon by clearing 2-8 again. It's a quest reward.

Umm not in particular that I know of. Once I hit Chap 7 or 8(whenever you get more extra missions) I went online for some missions since I got bored of offline. I did the desert one with the 40 wolves or something. Did that a few times(I think myteam was losing) and got a lot of good weapons. One that lasted me until I beat the game. OH! So i guess i went throught the majority with the early bow. But I could've stil done it lol. Some people i know have gone through the game with the first weapon. One being a hammersmith.

No problem! Glad I could help. People say that Hunter is not good to use until post-game but I clearly proved them wrong, and so can you! It just takes a little skill is all.
