GameSpot's Jonathan Toyad speaks with the Korean producer and developer of Gravity Corp. about the reiterated sequel to Korea's biggest MMO franchise.
Waahhhh no more merchant class? Heck I like Blacksmith where I made tons of money, plus I like how this class uses hammers and axes.
I loved RO! Played it more than any other MMOs and I still feel tempted to go back and play it again every now and then.
@mat989 you mean you will be truly happy... I don't see any "we" claiming such. No lady we WONT!! teehee
I live in malaysia, and played the 1 week close beta. Im a monk job now. All i gotta say is although the first game wins by far, but this game is still very addicting. The combo system is cool and different for each job, and the life job class is kinda cool. I would definitely play the open beta. Most of the ro elements we all know is here, expect for the sprites. The monsters, skills, towns are all here. Give this a chance.
Played on real RO1 when game first came out for about 6 months then played on over 50 private servers with friends throughout the years since. This looks like 100% shit for a sequel.
Notice they say nothing about gameplay..any pvp? end game content? features other mmos dont have? its.just surface things..I just know deep down this game is a grindfest...this moment was to convince me to play this game the developer failed miserably....
I played a little of the closed beta and...eh. It's very much like the original, and that's a big problem. That style of MMO just doesn't work anymore. And without the charm of the originals 2d sprites, it's just another generic korean mmo. As a huge fan of the first, I have to say it's better to just pass on this one.
@devild0ogwhite It's kind of sad that the 2D sprites from the last millenium look better than the 3D in this 2012 sequel.
RO was my favorite MMO, but this looks terrible. RO was very unique, albeit a little grindy, but this just looks like another generic, quest-based MMO. I would choose traditional grinding over quest grinding any day. I can't take another game where all it does it tell me what to do and how to play (which is pretty much every new MMO these days).
Ahhh. I was sooo attracted to 2D sprites in a 3d world. THAT was ragnarok. This... There's too many better alternatives, you know? It saddens me, but I'm not interested.
looks terrible. bring back to original ragnarok with HD graphics and an updated questing system w/ beautiful character voiceovers. Thanks.
not the same charm as the first game...cute sprites and view from the top for planning attacks ARE the simbol of ragnarok...
