The old West comes alive with the undead in this review for Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare. (Footage from X360 version.)
this is a great game... i would have been more than happy to have gotten RDR and this DLC on day one... but alas i got it just a few days ago :(
3:16 heh, that made me think of graffitti in the Old West. Wonder if we'll ever survive so ahead through time that there'll be Western flicks with graffitti, folks thinking that the 2 had actually been contemporary.
Undead Nightmare must be, like, the most unexpected DLC pack for Red Dead. Too bad I still don't have the game, however, this will change. :)
I laughed at the end of this video. Quite hard. By the way, people... Games are supposed to be reviewed at normal difficulty. Normal difficulty, is after all, the "baseline experience" in any given game. If they wanted a lack of auto-aim to be the baseline experience, they would've done so.
I agree that the combat isn't as good, but it's definitely more tough- especially if you turn the targeting to expert. This game is hilarious, and an incredible deal at $10. Clearing out towns can get repetitive, but the reviewer failed to mention one thing: when ammunition is running low (an admittedly rare affair) you need to retrieve more from chests. These chests are most often located inside buildings, far back in a corner. Going after these chest and getting cornered by a horde is an incredible thrill.
@ slick majestic You're entitled to your opinion. Making a blanket statement like that about a game that the majority of people liked and won 'Game Of The Year' among other awards however is completely retarded. Congratulations on being a fool.
@ Ronansm : I think you really lack math knowlage , what could posibily make you think a third half for the game is one sixth of it ?!
there r many abandoned places in the original rdr......... think wat they will be like in undead nightmare
Looks as simple, boring, easy, and bland as the original RDR. This game simply lacked character and the built in auto-aim feature completely ruined the multilayer aspect of it.
For $10, this is a pretty great value. It's definitely long enough for its price as well; think of it as a third half to the single-player campaign.
Seems about right, but I wouldn't pay $10 for it...but for $5 sure (and it's on sale right now if you've been waiting). Honestly the single player gets boring quickly. After a couple of hours I'm already losing interest.
the undead pack is so bad its hard 2 get a horse so u run and it takes long if u get it only play online
Mr. Calvert, what the hell do you expect the zombies to do? Use their non-existant common sense to take cover instead of doing what they do best and frankly the only thing they do know: eating people. Does it really come as that much of a surprise to you that zombies are braindead except in that respect. I mean, thats the basis of what a zombie is, a human who has been reverted back to their only primal instinct, to feed. Also, since it is a zombie survival game, it is very clear that ammo is supposed to be low in order to maitain the intensity. As a result, you cannot really complain about them. However I do slightly agree with you on the rooftop part. It does seem a bit silly and also it does appear to be fairly repetetive. Still I believe it is a very good deal for a DLC
As an expansion to my favorite game of the year, I bought it just because of that one reason. But outside of that, I am no tired of the aging *zombies* genre than I was before I bought this. While this game being partially an example, I wonder if developers are really trying anymore. I mean in genral it's either Russians or zombies, they slap either one on a game and people will flock to it. This game is certainly not lazy in it's execution, but I feel Rockstar was riding upon the zombies craze a little here too.
thinking about picking up the disc version of this hopefully sometime soon for some gunslinger zombie action
I bought the stand alone disc where it come's with this pack and along with all the other dlc that as came out and if I want to I can play online with everyone that has the original and I think I beat this pack but the credits never came up, do I have to find you know who and get you know what back or what.
This game is so worth it. Rockstar honestly never fails to deliver. It's 10 hours of gameplay for $10 plus all the fun that R* always delivers. You're a sucker if you don't get this. One of the best games ive ever played.
Red dead redemption is a really cool game and all but I'm thinking game designs are running out of ideas for games all they can think of like Dead riseing 1 and 2 left for Dead call of duty dont get me wrong here they are kick ass games and all I'm just saying that they might be running out of ideas.
@tehcris please do this dlc is great. the guy doesnt know what hes talking about 1 the moron has auto aim on and hes calling it easy 1.5 zombie games are always easier cod nazi zombies for example 2ALOT of bang for your buck, i mean four outfits, new weapons, multiplayer content and 6-10 hours of single player gameplay. the dude doesnt even know how to reivew, dlc speaking the is not worth the 10 ign gave it but definately at least a 9. buy it, this guy makes it look at lot worse than it is.
Wow what an idiot...He has auto-aim on and is calling the game easy...Learn how to properly review a game moron!
Best DLC I've played in months. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoyed RDR and love to kill zombies.
Most annoying reviewer at Gamespot. Can we have somebody who can actually speak correctly please? DLC looks great though.
@Legojake94 apparently Haitian folklore. Haitian zombies are quite different than the American pop-culture version. According to Haitian legend, dead bodies are brought back to life by sorcery. They aren't self-aware and are relatively harmless unless they're fed salt, "which restores their senses." :)
@Legojake94 your so right, good point they seem to be everywhere!!!!. This was still a real surprise to me!! having said this if you play red dead (normal) it gives you subtle hints, rescue the old boy peter and it tells you "somethings not quite right" the old girl swears shes seen him yet hes been dead for 20 years and buried!!!, simply awesome vision!! and good question!!
awesome, rockstar rule, a real original and head turning piece of software made even better with undead. pure genius and absolute class.
