It's a great game, but not what it's cracked up to be.

- The Bottom Line:
- "Don't believe the hype"
The game is good, but suffers from very repetitive story missions. There's lots to do, but it's all a bit laborious and, at times, I really felt I had to force myself to play. The problem isn't with the execution - the voice acting is phenomenal, the story helps you really relate to Marston (although it is pretty slow to start with) and whilst the shooting mechanics are a bit wobbly, they are very fun and simple to use. I think the problem is with the game itself. It just isn't always that enjoyable to play and when you're investing 20+ hours, it's a struggle sometimes to get through it. To put that into perspective, I've put in over 200 on Skyrim (I know...) and enjoyed every minute. It does pick up later in the game and whilst I really want to go and get the 100%, and I'm most of the way there, it's just going to be a grind I feel - and now I've completed it, I really can't bring myself to do it. It definitely is worth playing through just for the story though, if anything, and it isn't a bad game, just not as good as I expected.
I'm just playing Undead Nightmare and it's actually great. It's funny, lighthearted, and just genuine fun. Maybe it's down to personal opinion, but I'm having a lot more fun on this now.
