I had this game when it first came out on the Gamecube. I liked it, but I also sucked at it fairly badly. (I hated the GC controller, which may or may not have been part of the problem.) I got about halfway through it before getting stuck and eventually sold the game.
I'm thinking about giving it a second try, and looking at getting one of the more modern versions of the game. I'm torn about which version to get. The PS3 version has the nice 16:9 field of vision, while the Wii is stuck in 4:3 but has a really good control scheme. I also have a nice audio system, and would prefer the version that has better use of surround sound, if there is a difference.
For those of you that have played both, what would you suggest I buy? Thanks.

Graphics difference on PS3 really makes a big difference (compared them one after the other). Also, I don't know if this comes off as a plus or a minus to you, but the game is too easy with Wiimote aiming.

PS3 Version
Once you see the new graphics you wont go back.
The controls are easy enough to get used to and you will be playing like a pro in no time.

I got every version of RE4 I'd say go with either one.
The Wii Version does have the Wii Remote aiming which really makes the game easy but it is still tons of fun.
As for the PS3 version you get.... Trophies and that's about it. Graphically it really isn't all that impressive. It's a little more clear but it's nothing to write home about.

Even if the graphics don't look a lot crisper to you (they do to me), 16:9 makes a big different IMO.
