WTH, such impossible standards!

I'm playing back thru the games before I move to 6 and I'm trying to do these stupid shooting galleries to get the figurines. But gallery D-2 is so f*****g impossible, the standard they hold you to to get 3000 is ridiculous.
I did all the other ones without too much incident, A B and C were nice fun and easy D gave me a bit of a hiccup and D's second form is...well....rage inducing to say the least. I've tried to find some vids of someone coaching people who might be struggling on how to do it but there are none. Does anyone have some advise, a trick or two maybe? I'm only missing 2 figures and I could really use the pesetas.

I find game D much easier with the rifle. Games A, B and C are quite easy with the TMP, but for game D, I find there are too many Ashleys getting in the way, so the rifle's precision lets you avoid them better.
You MUST go for head shots though, and prioritize the female ganados (200 points per headshot, instead of 100) and Salazar targets. Aslo, you can't afford to miss too many shots...only 2 misses at most, IIRC.
Hope it helps.

Thanks for the input, I did manage to get it just a few minutes ago. I figured out that only getting maybe 23/25 worked surprisingly better than stressing about getting all 25 for the extra points. I think I got 3050 both times, just barely lol. The requirement on the 360 was so much more lenient, I guess Capcom expects PS3 players to be hardcore pro's and Xbox players to just be casuals. haha.

For some reason firing range C gave me a lot of trouble. Did firing range D with no problems. Its funny how different firing ranges can be more or less tricky for different people.

Lol im opposite. I use the pistol for A-C and used a tmp for D-2. Its all about moving and the Salazar targets. Kinda difficult if you're not used to used the single fire on the TMP.

Human kind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain something of equal value must be lost.

I did every single one with the handgun. The far-off or fast-moving ones can be hit in the body to make sure you don't break a streak. with 2 Salazars it's hard to not get 3000.

you think that's bad, for whatever reason I only got D-1 Twice and had to do D-2 4 times...so I'm like alright whatever until I get to the 6th bottle cap and get around 3300 I hear laughter and then I realize "CRAP" I haven't gotten the rare prize yet
(which pretty much means I had to either get all 25 or 4000 and above, listen I'm alright at the game itself but when it comes to these types of things that just made me want to throw my PS3 controller out the window)

The most I've ever gotten on a playthrough is three total bottlecaps. I have about the same amount of success with Mercenaries. It's tedious, not fun, and not rewarding.
So I fool around for a few minutes, then quit, grateful these things are optional.

It IS kind of rewarding though: 125,000 pesetas and you get to "examine" the action figures and listen to their lines. (Ok, the "examine" thing is not that great, but the extra money is nice.)

I like the cheesy figurines and the little lines they say (and the money for sure). I can beat them all pretty fast anyway.
Mercenaries is quite rewarding as a challenge. Different characters and weapon sets, going all out against mobs. And the Handcannon is not bad incentive at all.

The Ashleys only become a problem if you fail 3 or 4 times, for some reason the game thinks "oh they're having trouble, lets make it harder"

Btw, one tip that I forgot to mention on my previous post: It's generally better to make Leon stand either to the left or to the right; not on the middle. It gives you a clearer view of all targets.
pure mind games posted...The Ashleys only become a problem if you fail 3 or 4 times, for some reason the game thinks "oh they're having trouble, lets make it harder"
Really? Didn't know that...I'll have to test it. But actually, I do find the Ashleys difficult to avoid with the TMP on game D, even on my first attempt. (I hardly ever fail these days.)

Stick to the right of the area and use the rifle. By right I mean, as far right as you can go while still being able to hit the "X - Play Game" prompt or whatever it says. This gives you a little bit of an angle which will help greatly, and the targets stay up long enough that you can use the BAR no problem. When a Salazar comes up, prioritize it. For everything else, shoot what's closest to your scope when you first aim and work your way around, giving special attention to headshots, especially on the female Ganados.
