This game is a solid port of the PS2 version of RE4 to the PS3, nothing more, nothing less. The graphics have been upscaled quite a bit, although many textures still look pixelated and washed out, it is a non-issue in the end. The game in general looks much more crisp, thus HD.

The only drawbacks I have come across are some very minor technical issues, yet the one thing that stands out the most to me is the muffled audio. You may notice this at some point in the game if you really pay attention to it. Nevertheless, those sort of things are, once again, a non-issue IMO as they don't necessarily affect gameplay to a great degree.

In conclusion, if you're looking to revisit a survival horror classic (Mercenaries is definitely worth the replay value), why not dish out twenty bucks (or ten for Plus members) for a HD port of a classic? Also: no disk required!
