I hope they stay true to their words as well but they also said that 6 was going to be a reboot and it didn't happen. Now we just wait and see.

If they reboot to a new story without first concluding this one in some epic finale, I will be soooooooooo pissed,
I need closure in the current RE universe before they start a new one, this storyline has been going on for 17 years now, I've been following since day one, and to just throw it away would be the final straw for me

In all honesty, how can you really close a story like this? Every time they take out a villain, a new one takes their place. Unless everyone on earth dies, I can't think of a way you could close it to where nobody can just take the last persons place.

I'm hoping that Revelation's re-release will go over really well because I think that's the best mix of old and new. I don't really like the older style, I want to, but I just don't. I want to keep up on what is happening within the RE universe, but I just don't think I can force myself through it if it plays like the older games. So I hope they meet in the middle and make something like Revelations again.

How was the original story not concluded? There are no questions left unanswered except where side characters went.
The only loose end is Ada Wong. Everything else is just case-by-case nonsense of bioterrorism on the black market. They can't just say "Alright, BSAA and the government have wiped out ALL of the bio-terrorism, EVERYWHERE". RE6 wasn't even necessary for any purpose other than showing us what happened with Sherry and that Chris is tired of this crap.
Also, reboot doesn't necessarily mean start the story over. They could just be rebooting how the game plays. RE4 is a reboot, but it's still a continuation.

Cool. No more bland shooting action crap. Now if we can just go further from this terrible OTS camera and go with something more dignified awesome. And better puzzles and maze exploration. Revelaitions did a pretty mediocre job with finding keys and other items.

I really dont care that there are no more questions left or how they end it, honestly I would be happy if they did something totally stupid like killed the Earth
or made Wesker return as a good guy to fight off evil Barry who has been the real mastermind this whole time or any other rediculus scenerio any one can think of, I just really need them to end this one before they start another one

How does one close a story about a zombie outbreak that has affected almost the entire planet? The only place left to go is to unleash the Wrath of God upon the planet and watch it crumble to dust.

Honestly it could end with RE6. Sure The Family is still out there, but they'll never kill every bioterrorist organization. And obviously curing the virus doesn't work, they tried that once and a different company just made an enhanced version. They can't just say "Okay we have now cured every virus EVER!", that would be stupid.
