They 'conspired' to review a game on merit, for a change.

Then why did Skyrim get so many 10s? Elder Scrolls: The short school bus of videogaming.

LOL if it was a 9 out of 10, and someone screams "payed review" Fanboys would go nuts

Fans are free to enjoy the game but if you can't admit to seeing that there are plausible, reasonable flaws in the game which adds to how much the reviewer deducts from the overall score of the game, then you are no better than them by acting that the game is all perfection, rainbows and sunshine. Also, while a game can be fun at the end of the day, it doesn't always mean that it's well designed on a fundamental level and thus, people have the right to criticise the problems they see fit. Deal with it.

I don't buy into this paid reviews nonsense, but I do feel Resident Evil 6 is going to be another punching bag, in an effort to appear that video game criticism is "legitimate".

I've worked in the media for 19 years as a reporter, editor and photojournalist, and every year the same discussion is held about "automotive journalists." Guys get flown to Hawaii to "review" the new model of whatever car. I'm a video game addict too. Looking at game reviews over the years, the same little things pop into my mind. Good review on Gamespot, all of a sudden a huge banner pops up on gameFAQS promoting that same game. Coincidence? Who knows. Ultimately, they want you to go out and buy it regardless of whether it's quality or not. The only reviews I believe are fellow user reviews that come from folks like you who are reading this; I ignore "professionals" on Gamespot etc.

That game got 3's and 4's....

For almost any new game to get a score that low is just blasphemy. A score below 5 is basically reserved for games that are hideous graphically, buggy/unplayable or a combination of both.

As "professional" reviewers, these people are supposed to be fair and unbiased about the games they're reviewing. This stuff happens all the time. There should definitely be a reviewers tilt but not to the extent that is so commonly shown. It's a damn shame that most professional reviewers can't remove their egos enough to give the game a fair shake, that and the compulsion they have to rip on games so they can make poor attempts at humor.

I hate these people with a justifiable passion. Thank the heavens that honest user reviews exist because these "professionals" are only here to entertain, not inform. It would be nice to have both but it will probably not happen. I suggest everyone stop reading that crap and go with amateurs you can trust, there's no monetary gain involved with them.

I remember I used to think like that with Lost Planet 2, I loved that game so much and we had a great time with my friends in co-op and multi, so I was really shocked with the low reviews and started conjuring conspiracy theories but then you realize its better to judge things by yourself and not care what other people say. I still plan to get this game despite low reviews since I played the demo and it was pretty good.

They're all just trolling especially when this game is MORE survival horror than RE5 was by miles.

Obviously, for those who have played it, the game is not a 3 or 4 out of 10 by a damn sight.

I just wonder who paid off those sites.

Gamespot wasn't the only one to rate it.low but they seem so proud and smug about it.

It's almost as if they did it for the attention and blow up. And I think Capcom after its dlc issue was an easy target.

Whether you like the direction or not, hoe can anyone see this as a below average product.

The gameplay is solid, the graphics and sound are good, it has a lengthy single player and decent online support. Capcom may sometimes skimp on content but the games quality tends to be above average.
