Sorry if its been answer but why do ppl hate qte I think they r something that giving u something to do while watching cut scenes ( try tapping triangle for mgs peace walker) or did the human race just got more lazy

i have no problem with it except on cutscenes.
they completely caught me off guard in re4, which was the first game i played that had QTEs in cutscenes.
so there i am on the first boulder than see i have to press A, no biggie, i wasnt expecting a cutscene of leon outrunning a boulder.
but then he gets captured, and i recieve a phone call.
i watch the scene while im still talking, and then all of a sudden PRESS L+R! (to get free), and i didnt have my controller at the moment, and then i died.

There are no cut-scene QTEs like in RE4 and RE5. All of the QTEs in RE6 are implemented during gameplay (or during the short scenes that bridge gameplay sections together) and many of them are annoying as all hell, and totally gimmicky/unnecessary.

Ah so video game should be made where u just watch it like a movie but itstill a video game without controller like playing a game using ur mind

so I'm watching Leon and Helena talk to each other. I put the controller down to sip a cup of hot choco and then it stops because i have to press circle. Well, that's what made it annoying.

    In this game?
Small window to get what is happening, sometime you need to die 1st to know what is happening
There are lag that make the prompt doesn't work, especially on zombies where its vital

What capcom need is just patch to increase QTE window & reaction on prompt, then voila, we get a good RE5 killer/replacement
Oh, full control customization won't be bad, but thats pushing it IMO

It's overdone and tedious in RE6.

Use the stick to look around for toilet paper, press square at the right time to wipe your ass. Don't miss.

QTE are an over used gimmick in video games today that work in some cases, but are usually just thrown in there to seem as though there was more "thought" behind it. If it is a event that makes you go through a sequence that would be almost impossible during normal game play then there are no issues with it.

If you're making me tap a button repeatedly to drag out a cut scene and add "tension", forcing me to sit through it again if I fail, then you aren't making the game better just annoying me and most everyone else that has 10 or more brain cells.

QTE are okay - in gameplay-segments.

They have NO place in cutscenes, unless the game warns me about them beforehand, like FFXIII-2 did

They're a shallow gaming experience and typically boring. Not the QTE during actual fights, but the ones in cutscenes or involving vehicles. I don't mind having to repeatedly press a button during a boss fight to inflict extra damage. However I do mind having to alternate l2 and r2 to climb a rope.

    lol

    I don't mind QTE's but...

    SPOILERS!!!! Leon Chapter 4 SPOILERS!!!!

When you are trying to raise the aircraft to a higher altitude by quickly tapping the square button on the last segment was ridiculous. I was furiously tapping square and still crashed multiple times. It was too excessive and frustrating. And to top it off, you crash anyway!

    END SPOILERS!!!!

sorry couldn't locate the spoiler tag for some reason.

I only hate them when they are used innapropiately.

For example, the car scene in Leon's campaign. WTF was the point of that part again? It wasn't challenging or tense or anything, just tedious and annoying. Felt like I was playing Heavy Rain.

They're padding and a constant reminder of how little developers want gamers ruining their cinematic experiences.

Cutscene guy: So I thought up this awesome set piece where the protagonist does a bunch of ninja acrobatics against the zombie minotaur and finishes with an epic decapitation with a helicopter assist.

Gameplay guy: That's cool, but none of the gameplay mechanics allow for any of that. Where does the player come into the fight?

Cutscene guy: Bah, throw in some arbitrary button prompts and stick wiggles so they feel like they're doing something.

Other times, they're just baffling (why can't I just open goddamn doors?) And fluctuate wildly from patronizingly easy, pat-on-the-head busywork to "Jesus! I only have human reflexes!"
