RE 4 Was and is the most violent and goriest game in the franchise. Decapitations, torso rips, impalement, faces getting melted of by acid. Now they block everything from view or cut the camera away. It must be the producer. They need to get the original producer back! but I believes he works at platinum games now. oh well....

This game was a step up from RE5. Some deaths are arguably more gruesome than RE4's.

That one is is ok, but nowhere near as good as any of the ones from 4. Also when he "cuts" your head off, they try to block it with the camera angle but you can still see your head is still on lol.

You seem to be riding RE4 abit hard.

There's plenty of horrible scenes in this. I rather like the camera cut aways. Leaves it feeling different than looking at mere gore.

skip to 36sec. that alone trumps everything in this game.

Which ones are those? I'm pretty much in the same boat as TC here.

The actual decapitation is definitely more gorier than in getting decapitated RE6, but I'm not sure whether it 'trumps everything.'

RE4 was heavily censored in some versions as well. I remember the now-famous Leon being decapitated by Dr. Salvador being reduced to a widescreen picture with black bars at the top and bottom of the screen hiding just about enough where you know what's going on but can't actually see anything.

In other words, content is sometimes censored and sometimes not. There may eventually be an 'uncensored' RE6 that somehow manages to show more than this version does.

You all can go watch Saw for some Torture porn, to get you off on.

I bet if RE5 was solo, everyone would be happy, since it was the same mechanics in the damn game...

Im not riding hard. Its the truth. But in all honesty they have been censoring the games a lot. I wonder why though. To make more sales? Its an M rated game. Why not just go all out? Doesn't make sense.

I'm pretty sure Capcom once said that they were cutting back on the gore in future RE games because they believe the series was starting to become a gore-fest.

RE is really losing it's roots by toning back the gore.

Just watch Leon get stuffed in a meat grinder, that was some nasty ****.

Yeah, if you think 4 was more violent, you obviously haven't seen most of the unique death scenes in 6.

However, you see almost no actual gore. I think the TC is referring to seeing chunks and dismemberment. The meat grinder scene is definitely brutal, but Leon's head seems to pass cleanly through the blades without suffering a single scratch. Stuff like this is noticeable in other deaths as well.

How about zombies pulling out a characters entrails then?

What roots did it have in gore?

Yeah I hate that they reduced the gore.
The gore added a new form of horror.
I played through RE4 last week, and you know what the scary part were? The death scenes. I DID NOT like getting killed by Dr salvador in mercenaries. And the bella twins? Oh ****! The regenerators stabbing you. The bugs in the sewer removing your face with acid. All of that added to the scare.
But in RE 5 and 6? Nope. The only thing that made me "wtf" was the blender moment. But every other death scene was not scary.Gore if you die ,that makes you scared of seeing that same death scene again? Or tone everything down because its becoming an "action " game.
Its sad because that made RE 4 that much more tense.

Do you really need to see these scenes in high detail? Its a bit twisted.
