- The Bottom Line:
- "Almost, but not quite"
Resident Evil 6 is the most different form any release in this franchise to date. For that it has received a ton of flak and haters have been tearing it to shreds. The big changes come in the form of being able to move and shoot at the same time and the stories intersecting at certain points allowing for 4 player co-op at some points throughout the game.
You get to play through the game through 4 different stories with the possibility of playing as 7 different characters. That's the most of any game to date. As you progress you can earn points to unlock unlimited ammo for certain guns, equip perks to your characters such as more damage from melee attacks, and collect serpent emblems to unlock figurines in your collection which can be viewed from the main menu.
The story itself is good if you follow the Resident Evil series. I thoroughly enjoyed the game's campaign in every way playing with friends in co-op, although the game is much less survival horror and much more horror shooter now. I'd like for it to go back to its roots but I'll take it as is.
I'm not going to touch on multiplayer because I don't play it.
As long as you like the story of the Resident Evil genre then this game is for you. If you can't look past the changes then you can always play Resident Evil 4 or Code Veronica which are available for download on Xbox Live.

RE 6 is a game with great gameplay mechanics and an intriguing, but short, storyline. The enemies could also use work.

Some promising elements, but fell short. "Disappointing" is the word that comes to mind.
