Rift Enter the Rift Trailer

I love this. It looks so fun but it didn't show much gameplay, i couldn't access the beta for some reason, but does anyone know if three things, the combat is fun and inventive, questing isnt repetitive and if its free to play?

Couldn't have put it better myself nuschu. Rift doesn't want you to be left out because you like playing as a sneaky backstabbing Rogue. No no! Swap souls and become a bard and become a very sort after toon for dungeon groups. Or maybe that's not your thing. No problem, switch again and become ranged DPS with a pet that will gnash mobs ankles off! Really though, the possibilities are endless. You could even have part assassin part bard if you so pleased. Can't wait for beta 5, roll on the 25th.

Played through the first 4 betas and leveled up two characters to the max level permitted in beta as well as two others that I'm not as far into and I haven't stopped having fun with this game yet. If your class starts boring you, you can basically create a whole new class and have up to 4 of these roles that you can switch between out of combat in 2 seconds. So you can create offensive, defensive, support, or any combination of 3 souls per role, with 8 souls to choose from overall. If you screw up and add one soul that you didn't want, you can repick, allocate points and train up. So you have a tank/cleric and your party cant find a healer? No problem, switch roles to your healer build and you're set. In Rift it's impossible to gimp your character. I've been beta testing MMOs since UO's first closed beta and this is by far the most polished product in beta that I've run across. At the very least try to get into the beta and play it before you dismiss it out of hand as a clone. Every MMO has built on MMOs from the past and this is no different.

That's funny when that guy came on with that lady, I think she was realizing she was dating a nerd right at that moment. It was a mixture of shock, disgust and panic. How will she get out of the relationship and leave her nerd behind. The journey will be epic

Teleporting sniper, that made my day

Beta 4 was the first one i got to play in and i'm stunned. I played as a guardian and got to level ten. Got through the tutorial are and got to work on the first area.....and barely scratched the surface. The world is very intriguing, the combat is fun, but the real high light is the rifts. The pure joy when a bunch of people get together and fight something is great. I just finished one Life Rift and was happy to go over to a Fire Rift soon after. The concept seem like it never gets old.

Played the beta version (beta 4) --- this game is very good.

Why does this movie make me think of all the hype that came out with Tabula Rasa? I like the idea of dynamic worlds with multiple player classes but TR floped massively and had alot of the same ideas inlcuding multiple character profiles (don't remember what they called them) and so called invasions. I just don't see this unseating WoW yet - and I am NOT a WoW fan.

I'm so sick and tired of the fantasy setting it's unreal. SICK. AND TIRED. Give me space. Give me modern day. Give me underwater. PLEASE, JUST NO MORE DRAGONS, ELVES, DEMONS, OR WITCHES. PPPLLEEEAEAASSSEEEE?!!!?!! What is wrong with everyone that they like freaking dragons and goblins in every damn MMO they play?!

Looks pretty cool.... I'll wait and see what the reviews are before buying, however.

this game is hella boring.

The combat animation looks incredibly awakward and sluggish. The graphics don't look much better than Aion, Guild Wars or World of Warcraft. The video doesn't explain most of the quotes from interviewed the guild members. "Everything just worked. And it was not just working but taking the little annoyences of every other MMO I've ever played and fixing them" In what way? How? And there's nothing worse than an official video with in-game lag.

Looks like the real deal. Graphics and design are better than any MMO out there. Warcraft just has the cartoon graphics which get old real fast. Rift also looks like it has great customization which looks also to be better than any MMO on the market. The Rift in the world, random, is a great idea which should lead to a new MMO world.

ok first of all i dont think this going to be great why.. so far i like the mounts only thas it ...the armo looks like simple and the wapons... lol wors i yust wait till other ppl play it and see

This game is beyond awesome. It's like Vanguard, EQ2, and WoW had a 3 way, and RIFT is the resulting love child. So many classes, each one super unique. I can't really say more, but this game is pure epic.
