I did all this on the 360. Have a co worker and his wife which i introduced to this game. His wife wants to get into this now. Hes the one with the PS3 so thats why im here. Will someone let me know if this is still possible on the PS3.
Can you buy RB3 of the PS network. Get the rb1 and rb2 discs and import the songs so they are playable with RB3? I dont remember if the export/import code was a 1 time thing with those earlier games. Also what about the other rockband games like lego, green day, ac/dc, and the beetles?

Yes you can buy songs from the PS store and export songs from track packs and other Rock Band games but good luck finding a new copy of Rock Band 2.
I don't know how it works on Xbox but you need to register the code in the Rock Band 2 case at rockband.com to get another code you use to export the songs and pay 10 dollars.

You can't get RB3 off the PSN, and I've seen people having trouble finding a copy of the game since it's out of print I believe. So it could be fairly tough.

Are you sure you need new copies of the RB1 and RB2 disc in order to import those songs into RB3?

For RB1, you need the game disc and have to purchase the export key from the PS store, but do not need a code. For RB2, you need an unused code from the game manual and have to purchase an export key.
