These are GameSpot's nominees for the 2012 PSN Game of the Year.
the only games nominated that i played on the psn is journey and it was worth all my euros =D i played the walking dead on xbla and it suprised me alot how well tell tale games created this amazing point and click adventure but for the psn journey should win since it's an exclusive, and on the xbla twd even tho i liked other games like sine mora, spelunky and mark of the ninja twd is my personal choice for xbla winner
Journey has beauty and a fantastical world.
The Walking Dead has the human heart.
As much as I love them both, The Walking Dead wins this one for me.
Pretty much between Walking Dead and Journey. Ugh, qhy did these games have to come out in the same year?
Seroiusly, why is PSN in a separated from PS3? To me, that's ilogical. Plus, Journey wins this one, easily.
journey on psn easily since walking dead is multi-platformer..no competition from others
I love Journey. I really do.
But goddamn The Walking Dead deserves to win this so much. It won VGAs, but I'd like to see a landslide in every gaming magazine, website, etc. It really is an incredible game. The ending alone beat out Halo 4's easily, and is one of the most tragic endings since, well...in a long time.
I am about to buy Journey but before i do that.. Is it really THAT good? :O Some writers say it could make you smile, laugh and even cry for no reason. I just can't believe it. Well, i guess i didn't buy PS3 just a month ago for nothing. Waiting for your reply!
@horizoniki @Bayonetta2013 The solution is Simple ..... buy TWD on Steam and buy Journey on PSN. Both games are worth playing
@horizoniki @Sparten1009 @Bayonetta2013 Yes there is online, but you only get to play with random people that you meet throughout your journey.
I wouldn't agree with the writers you mentioned. In my opinion, it won't make you smile nor cry. It is a different feeling of awe and admiration(due to superb music, visuals and direction generally) which is really enhanced if you play with a serious partner. Now, personally, I think it is an unique, extraordinary game, but it is from these games that I wouldn't recommend to anyone...
@Sparten1009 @Bayonetta2013 i beat TWD far and wide, seen all the concequences and cried atleast 3 times during the walkthrough >< why isn't it so obvious i was only talking about JOURNEY xD
@horizoniki Journey or TWD? If you meant TWD, yes. It's my favorite game of all time, and since that hasn't changed since FFXIII back in 2010, it's a big deal for me. TWD is so full of human emotion, the characters feel more real than any other game. You will laugh in the game, plenty of times. And yet five minutes later you could be faced with the decision that may change the course of your adventure. What makes TWD so special is that it connects you with the characters so that you actually care when something happens to them. Since you can basically choose your dialogue and direct the conversations, it makes it that much more immersive and compelling. The two lead characters, Lee Everett and Clementine, are probably the best fleshed-out characters in gaming history. Beautiful soundtrack, visuals, dialogue gameplay (point-and-click walker encounters are meh at best, but still fun at least), and story are what this game excels at...basically everything.
I won't spoil anything else, but hear me out when I say TWD is easily one of the best games you'll ever play. The PS3 version is probably better, and it's only $5 for an episode (five in all) so it's definitely worth it. Let me know if that satisfied your question!
@horizoniki Now I feel like an idiot >.<
Here we go, then!
Journey is art. Point-blank, surreal beauty. I've never heard of playing Journey "online"...are we talking about the same game here lol? It's been awhile since I played it earlier this year, but I'm pretty sure there's no way to play online...I think...other than that, this game is very gorgeous. The soundtrack was nominated for Grammys, so that should say something to. It's also mixed in with a bit of Japanese culture hence the traditional mountain above the landscape (which is often depicted in many Japanese stories) and the gameplay is simplistic but fun. Definitely get it, too! It
s not on the level of emotion TWD is, but it's kind of in its own category, so it's hard to compare the two.
@Bayonetta2013 haha, nooooooooooo, you've got it wroong! i sure meant Journey xD And yes, i am in the same kind of relationship with TWD as you bro! Anyway, i heard it'd be nice to play Journey online. Do you get to play along with random persons or you can invite your friends? Cuz i dont have any1 who's planning to play Journey atm. This is what keeps me from buying this piece of art
@MarchingOrd3rZ The Walking Dead gives Journey a huge run for its money. I loved Journey for its surreal beauty, but graphics were a huge factor in how well it received. The Walking Dead's graphics are good, but not likeable to everyone. TWD attaches you to your characters, and while Journey wasn't meant to be story-based by any means, there wasn't much else to get out of the game other than it's good, simplistic gameplay and gorgeous visuals. Don't get me wrong, I love them both, but I honestly believe TWD deserves to win.
Journey. I have NO idea how to play when I downloaded it, but the music is amazing and the graphics are great especially for a PSN game...I may give it another try.
Journey !
Walking Dead is a great game, but people who experienced Journey know why
@vivi2000 I played Journey, and I still like TWD over it. Simply because TWD attached you to your characters and allowed you to direct the game. I love Journey's visuals and simplistic gameplay, but there's not much else that it could win.
Journey all the way, but if it doesn't get it, I wouldn't be TOO pissed if it was Walking Dead instead. BUT I'D STILL BE PISSED!
