I can't wait to play this game in December 2013 when it is likely to be released in the USA. Sega seems to have a trend of releasing these Yakuza games in the USA one year after they are released in Japan which seems a bit lazy since they don't add English voice translations anymore after the first Yakuza. How long does it really take them to translate the text from Japanese to English? I would rather be playing Yakuza 5 in spring or summer 2013 than possibly December 2013 or March 2014. I'm really looking forward to the next installment in the Yakuza series.
Big in Asia: Yakuza 5
- Feb 21, 2013
Bears! J-Pop Idols! Gang Warfare! Jonathan and Randolph venture into the insane world of Yakuza 5 in this installment of our Big in Asia livestream replay.
i would give up body parts to get this game. please sega i will preorder and pay double just release this game in america!!!!
I have soo many asian games to play this coming year its soo stressful.. Of course I have my usual NIS America and Koei and now I want this pff no wonder I'm soo broke lol..
@assais When? its more of a IF at this point Sega did say they have no plans for a US or NA date and since this is the first one to have so much Jpop and such i do not blame sega but you can just import
all most about done with this game its def one of the best yet but idk if this will see a usa date with all the jpop and haruka gameplay trying to bring it to NA or EU prob be a no go
@BillyColeman the people who will buy the game will buy the game, no matter the unusual content. i actually would love to play as haruka, a lot of us who love anime would love to as well. sega needs to understand that the people who buy this game goes in expecting this kind of content.
@keichimorisato9 @BillyColeman sorry my spelling and gram suck ill try to make my point and its more to do with the fact Sega cant bring all of it here some of the jpop is only for JP or parts of Asia. most Ryu ga Gotoku games that have made it out of JP have had lots of stuff takeen out Ryu ga Gotoku 3 when it came to NA/EU was strip of the JP op to the game and lots of side quest Ryu ga Gotoku 4 not so much but was still missing the real OP to the game and a few mini games but. Ryu ga Gotoku 5 makes stuff very hard as harukas story is all jpop with lots of songs that have rights to JP only my guess if sega dose just do it they will take haruka's gameplay out too save time and cash
Okay, so if I bear attacks me in the woods, all I have to do is build up my heat and beat it down with my bare hands. Makes perfect sense.
Only if there were English in this video so I would be able to understand it. I really like the Yakuza series.
Why is the other guy asking the player to get on the motorcycle so badly? The game isn't all about motorcycles.
@ninjasung the first game was, and it was done pretty well, just "weaboos" didn't like it and so it was taken out, (though there was an option to play the game in japanese with english subtitles)
Love "Yakuza 3" and "Yakuza 4". 30 plus hour campaigns each. "Yakuza: Dead Souls" was weird but still fun. CAN'T WAIT FOR "YAKUZA 5"!!! And "Yakuza 6" will be on PS4.
Yakuza games aren't all about graphics. There about what games should be about pure fun and entertainment. Please don't wait a year to release this game.
This game needs to come to the west already. The previous Yakuzas were fucking mindblowing!
Please SEGA, PLEASE!!
@Imperiacommando What a stupid conclusion. Is there a capacity in your head to how many games you can get excited for? You can wait for both.
I hope we get this one, I would be surprised if we don't after getting the zombie one and the last four.
@silversix_ Blocky hands from early 2000 reminds me of the mitten like hands of the characters from Resident Evil: CODE Veronica. They're much more noticeable in the HD re-release from 2011 than they were originally on the good ole Sega Dreamcast. Perhaps Sega is trying to provide some nostalgia for Shenmue on the Sega Dreamcast with their Yakuza character models. The current PS3 Yakuza games graphics seem like up-scaled shinier versions of the PS2 Yakuza games to me. I like the graphics on either PS2 or PS3 though. I'm really not complaining at all.
@silversix_ LOL. Tell me about it. I am waiting for the day when plant life actually doesn't look pixilated up close. I mean it's fucking 2013 and if the PS4 can't even do that I will be dissapointed.
@Goemons It probably takes some time for translation before arriving. After all, it's a long game. Sega aren't crazy enough not to sell one of its biggest franchises in Western markets.
