I loved Fallout 3, and decided to trade in my copy of it to get the GOTY Edition when it came out. Then I found out that the game is completely fucking broken and freezes often enough that it's practically unplayable. I held out for a patch, but it never came because Bethesda simply doesn't give a flying fuck about it's customers. NEVER buying another Fallout product ever again.

@Generic_Dude I played the GOTY version on the PS3, and I see what you mean. But on PC the game runs perfectly, as well as the rest of Bethesda games.

And as of today, I am still waiting for a Fallout 4...

I love the exploration of Fallout. Whether you come across a giant city littered with problems or a small den with a few corpses and a secret backstory, it's always interesting to explore the wasteland.

I really can not wait until the next Fallout. I'm holding my breath for an E3 announcement.

Well it's going to be interesting to see what Brian Fargo will do with the 3 million dollars fans gave him for his wasteland 2 project... As a fan of the original isometric system, I believe that Fargo will deliver a well told story, with deep involved characters and a great expanding open world game... Don't get me wrong, I like FO3 and FO NV, but as a fan of the original games I would have liked to see a game updated to be more similar to "The Fall: Last Days of Gaia" or something similar. I love Oblivion, and that's the reason I thought the capital wasteland was amazing. As long as they keep telling great stories, We've got nothing to fear from bethesda....

My favorite, Fallout 3. Such a great game for virtually any type of player, and the one that got me back into gaming. The beautiful post-apocalyptic setting, open world, and lots of interaction with interesting characters.

My only hope is that Bethesda doesn't tinker too much with the gameplay or theme in the next one. Just update the graphics, reduce bugs, keep VATS, and maybe give me a four-wheeler.

I played the first Fallout and loved it. It had a lot great little mini-stories. If you went to the wrong area though you'd get obliterated. It was better than diablo, which I was playing at the time.

You should do an episode for the Commandos series.
Good ep too

@sebbysebbseb Agreed, loved #1! 2 was good aswell, but then it went a bit too "3d" imo. I loved the detail in 1 & 2, that got lost when it went "3D".

(note to modern kids... by "3D" i don't mean it comes out the screen lol, i mean it's not 2D sprites.)

@sebbysebbseb I would like to see an episode on Commandos, what a great series and it was a little hard also. Good memories.

Loved the show Danny, makes me want to boot up Fallout 3 GotY Edition again, although I hate New Vegas, way too many bugs and the loading areas in NV were awful on consoles (I mostly play consoles). Also can you do an EFMS on Ninja Gaiden?

Fallout 3... memories? How young are you here? Damn none remembers the old series? Those were the hard core games, and the new ones pale in comparison to the godly Fallout 1&2

POMEGRENADE451

@CloudXentar I actually was not old enough to play one and two when they first came out. However, when they recently came out with that triple pack that caused so much legal trouble, I managed to buy a copy before the trouble started. I put quite a bit into those games, but they are quite a bit harder than today's games, and were above a mind of my caliber. They were, however, a lot of fun.

@CloudXentar What shocks me is I just got back into gaming and fell in love with Fallout 3. One of my friends who is a huge gamer (like that's pretty much how he spends his free time as well as designing board games and even found his job when helping program on some online gaming community), was easily able to talk Fallout 3 with me but had never played the originals. It's odd to me that even die hard gamers (and he's older than me) haven't played the originals. Then again, I'm probably not being fair, not sure how much he's into turn based rpgs (Though I know him through tabletop rpging). Even I had made several attempts to play the original back when it came out and a little later (I get frustrated too easily though so I'd always end up getting to the first vault that wasn't where I came from and eventually giving up).

Fallout 3. Man still remember first playing that game. Was blown away. It set a new standard for an open world games. Not just the gameplay but the setting, the humour, the characters, the quests. Ahhhh man. I loved it. Still aint finished New Vegas but I liked that too, had more of a feeling of war, and you felt like you could decide the outcome. You'd also see random battles going on. Love Fallout man. Please., Please give us 4.

Although successful in rebooting the franchise, Fallout 3 and New Vegas were still inferior (imho) due to that horrible engine - damn you Gamebryo!

Well done as always Danny. Fallout 1, Fallout 2, and Fallout 3 all have a special place in my gaming collection and watching this video has made me want to go back and delve back into the already familiar universe to enjoy it some more.

Fallout for me was special, not because of the story & characters. It was how it dare's to ask questions about humanity. Moral choices, which were the best part of the game created a dilemma. None of the moral choices were easy. Fallout was succesful in showing the best and worst of humans. It potrays the pros and cons of basic human nature. For example, Blowing Megaton.  It is truly one of the best gaming series in existence.

Fallout 3... ohh the memories...blowing up Megaton probbly one of the best things I did in that game ;)

I'd love if you'd do a episode about the S.T.A.L.K.E.R franchise ;

@MW2ismygame I'd rather them spend the time and make sure to make a quality game with lots of good gameplay and different ways the story/character can go as well as a good story than rush it through to get it out right away.  Even better if they take their time and make it run smoothly (I know Bethesda is not known for non buggy games though). There are plenty of games to take my time in the meantime.

I mean I won't complain if it comes out soon as long as it wasn't rushed and they compromised to do so.

@tigress666 I always hear so much shit about how buggy Bethesda games are, but having put over 1000 hours into Bethesda games, haven't experienced it. I guess I got the few discs they burned properly.

tigress666
tigress666

@CincoToes @tigress666 They're not super annoying but they are definitely there (Fallout 3 for me seemed worse than Skyrim honestly, at least in bugs that affected being able to play the game and also crashing. Skyrim I didn't seem to notice as many problems until my game got pretty big). And I experienced the Skyrim slows down once you play so many hours on a character. Part of that for me though is I'm playing on a PS3 (I think that last part is due to game saves accumulating a lot of size as you play and the PS3 really not having enough RAM).

Most of it that I saw was just stupid stuff to laugh at (like two horses being put in the same spot). And really, with how open and many different things you can do in the game, I'm impressed enough that they can do it (I tend to expect games with that much variation to have some bugs, it's a huge world and a lot of variables to take into account for, easy for small bugs to sneak in that even with a lot of gametesting don't get found until the game goes public and has tons of "game testers" so to speak ;) ).

made_u_look
made_u_look

@CincoToes @tigress666 Well on PC the community fixes the bugs pretty quick. But yea they were really buggy, Morrowind, Skyrim, Fallout 3. I mean most of the bugs weren't game breaking some immersion breaking. Like quests not being able to be turned in or just engine glitches.
